About Us

"Our Family Serving Your Family"

For over 140 years Mulhane Home for Funerals has been owned and operated by five generations of the Mulhane family.

1872

In 1938 Joseph Mulhane and his son Dennis Sr. purchased the Buck Homestead at 45 Main Street in Millbury. This was the first and only building location of Mulhane Home for Funerals. The two decided on the name Mulhane Home for Funerals instead of Mulhane Funeral Home, so families would have the feeling of being in a comfortable and familiar environment.

1969

In 1969 Stuart Mulhane entered the funeral business after serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

1980-1993

In the early 1980’s and again in 1993 large renovations were made to the funeral home to better serve the community but still keep the buildings comfortable atmosphere that Mulhane Home for Funerals is known for.

2003

In 2003 Matthew graduated from Colby-Sawyer College with a bachelor’s degree in business management. Following graduation he entered into the family business.

2009

In 2009 Matthew became the fifth fully licensed embalmer and funeral director of the Mulhane family.

Stuart and Matthew are both members of the National Funeral Directors Association and the Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association. With five generations and over 140 years of experience Mulhane Home for Funerals is dedicated to serving your family during your time of need with dignity, trust and honor.
