SUTTON

SUTTON - It is with great sadness that on Thursday February 11th, 2021 William “Billy” Gingras 85 passed away from complications of Covid.  He did not go quietly for his fighting spirit stayed strong the entire time.  He did not pass alone, he was with family and the nurses who quickly became friends and family of his in his short time being there for that is the type of person he was, a generous soul who would give his shirt off his own back for those in need.  For even though he lived life his way and like a wild child he loved so many and we all loved him back.

Billy was born March 23rd, 1935 in Worcester, MA and was the Son of the late Mary (Murphy) Gingras, and Edward Gingras.  He is survived by His Daughter Diana and her husband Dermot.  His Son John and Wife Cindy.  He is also survived by his Granddaughters Maurina, Kaylin, and Ashlinn. His Grandsons Robert and Richard.  He is survived by his 8 great- grandchildren Jamie, Cillian, Braiden, Gaige, Jacksen, Roisin, Niamh and Sofia who he loved with every beat his heart took and every breath he took.  He is survived by his siblings Doris, Anne, and Marylou her Husband Spike, John and his wife Donna and Sister-in-Law Lucille. Also, the family dog Harley who misses him so much.

He is not alone though for Billy is met in heaven by his loving wife Maurina who passed away in early 2018, His grandson Lance and Great Granddaughter Rilyn and the rest of his family and friends who have come and gone before him.  Knowing Billy, when he arrived in Heaven he went in with a loving smile and warm arms to be reunited with those he has loved and missed for quite some time and there was a celebration of the reuniting.

Billy was a Marine and served his country and did time overseas enlisting at the age of 17. He had his Aviators license and loved to fly over New England with his friends.  He has owned several businesses over his lifetime and loved to stay busy. He was still going strong working 7 days a week at his shop where he was known as “Lord of the Manner” and loved being around everyone there for they were more than friends they were also family.

Even though he is gone and leaving an empty spot in all our lives he taught us all so much with his ever-growing wisdom and great sense of humor which will keep him alive through all of us.  The saying “The Man, The Myth, The Legend” was created after men such as Billy and no one will ever be able to fill the empty boots he once filled.  -SEMPER FI
