MILLBURY

Virginia G. (Maynard) Smith 95 of Millbury passed away on April 20, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital.

Virginia also known as Ginny to her friends and family was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Donald R. Smith.  Ginny is survived by two sons, Roy and his wife Debra of Sutton, Brian and his wife Maureen of Millbury and two daughters, Donna Kotel and her husband Steve of Ft. Myers, FL and Sharon Bergstrom and her husband Paul of Millbury.  She also leave her sister and partner in crime Gloria Johnson of Sutton as well as eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Ginny had many hobbies including sewing, cake decorating, arts, crafts and shopping.  She started her career representing the American Women as a cultural icon Rosie the Riveter during WWII welding at Washburn & Wire Company and Joseph Levitt’s until it later closed and she retired.  She came out of retirement at age 67 to help out a friend and worked in the Sutton Elementary School kitchen which turned out to be for 26 years and finally retired at age 93.
