MILLBURY – Rosalie L. (Quintin) Paquette, 71, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Oct. 9th in St. Vincent’s Hospital. Rose was and always will be a light to everyone she touched.

Rosalie was born in Colchester, Vermont in 1948. She attended Rice High School and Burlington High School in Vermont. Rosalie moved to Massachusetts as a young adult and met the love of her life and future husband, Loring. Rosalie enjoyed a lifelong career in the healthcare profession and enjoyed her calling of taking care of others. She started her Career at City Hospital in Worcester, Ma and then worked for many years at Smith Nursing Home in Millbury, Providence Nursing Home in Millbury, and St Francis Adult Day Health in Worcester.

Rose’s husband, Loring G. Paquette passed away in 2011. She leaves her children, Guy T. Paquette and his wife, Nancy of Grafton, Amy M. Paquette-Riordan and her husband, Dave of Millbury and Tia L. Finacom and her husband, Matthew of Millbury; five wonderful grandchildren whom she enjoyed immensely, Joshua Paquette and his wife, Jen, Kevin Paquette, Zachary Paquette, Justin Paquette and Aiden Finacom; one great granddaughter, Zahrylie Rose Paquette and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Ovila Quintin and Juliette (Hebert) Quintin both of Montreal, Canada, nine siblings (Phillip, Ernest, Alice, Paul, Albert, Laura, Odila, Cora and John) and recently predeceased by 2 sister-in-laws (Sandra Paquette and Myrna Fantasia).

Rosalie was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Parish in Worcester. Rosalie enjoyed her family, her friends and doing crafts of all kinds but especially crocheting and painting. Rose’s favorite past time was cooking for her friends and family, she loved everyone by feeding them. Long after retiring from the healthcare field to work for her husband's construction company, Rose continued to be a caretaker for everyone she knew. Rose provided counsel for all by being a kind and compassionate person who would listen to anyone's troubles while making sure they had a homemade meal to eat and usually a homemade dessert to follow. Rose’s house was often referred to as “Rosie’s Diner”, known for never having a closing hour and endless pots of coffee. Rose enjoyed making all the holidays a big celebration for her family. Rose was also known to offer her prayers to anyone who needed them and due to her strong religious upbringing it was no surprise that Christmas was her favorite holiday. Christmas at her house lasted for at least a month. Rosalie’s family would like to invite all who knew her to celebrate her life.

Family and friends will honor and remember Rose’s life by gathering for her Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17th at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road in Worcester. There are no calling hours and burial will be private.
