Robert S. Cardin, 88, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, Jan. 3rd in the Blaire House, Milford.

Robert is predeceased by his first wife, Madeline M. (Blair) Cardin; a son, Norman J. Cardin and a daughter, Debra Cardin; his parents, Alfred and Margaret (Sampson) Cardin; his brothers, Francis and Walter Cardin; his sisters, Mabel Hanley, Evelyn Witkofsky and Doris Vaillancourt.  Bob is survived by his wife, Alice M. (Paulhus) Ramian-Cardin of South Grafton; four children, Nancy Braman and her husband, Richard of Elgin, SC, Donna Banks and her husband, Kevin of Worcester, Pamela Babbitt of Elgin, SC and Peter Cardin of Lugoff, SC; a step daughter, Maria Halloran of Webster; two step son’s, Ernest Lambert of Goodyear, AZ and Russell Lambert of Worcester; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred and Albert Cardin of South Grafton; many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a veteran of the United States Army.  He worked for the former Bay State Abrasives of Westborough for over 30 years.  Bob loved to travel, driving, the beach and wood working.  Most of all Bob loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He will always be remembered as their P­ép­é.  He was known as a handy man who could build or fix anything.

The family would like to thank the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice for all their amazing care and support

Family and friends will honor and remember Bob’s “B­éb­é” life by gathering for calling hours on Sunday, Jan. 7th from 2 to 5 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 8th at 10 a.m. in St. James Church, 89 Main Street, South Grafton.

Burial with military honors will follow in St. Brigid Cemetery, Millbury.  Please omit flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Parish, 89 Main Street, South Grafton, MA 01560.
