Richard E. Angers

September 23, 2021

MILLBURY – Richard E. Angers, 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 23rd at home.

Richie is survived by his beloved and dedicated wife of 50 years, Linda Angers; his devoted children, Christine N. Murphey of Millbury, Jennifer S. Silva and her husband Colin of Worcester, and Technical Sargent Brian P. Angers and his wife Tahnee of Las Vegas, Nevada; his adored grandchildren, Krystal, Michael, Reilly, Aislyn, Ariel, Ashton and a step grandson, Thor; a brother, Paul F. Angers and his wife Linda of Spencer; three sisters, Mary R. Foley and her husband Thomas of Worcester, Theresa M. Butkiewicz of Worcester and Jeanne M. Angers of Worcester; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Richie was born in Worcester, son of the late Rene A. Angers and Mary (Ford) Angers. He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Worcester, where he lived for a number of years before moving to Millbury. Richie fondly spoke of his years working at the Flying Saucer Restaurant and Summit Steel, later to be Kadant Web Systems, where he was a steel cutter and truck driver for most of his life.

Richie was considered “a jack of all trades.” He enjoyed fixing many things and would not give up until complete, even if it took days. He was often seen working on his truck engine, with his loyal cat, Spike, watching. He also enjoyed playing his guitar and singing in his younger years. Richie enjoyed traveling, especially Caribbean cruises, as well as his trips to Old Orchard Beach and St. Maarten. His family meant everything to him. He loved being a husband, father and uncle and took great pride in sharing in his family’s accomplishments but being a Grandpa, or Poppa, was his greatest joy. Richie’s grandchildren always brought a smile to his face and joy to his heart.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate and remember Richie’s life with a time of visitation on Thursday, September 30th from 4 to 7 pm at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.

His funeral services will be celebrated on Friday, October 1st at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Masks or face coverings will be required in the funeral home.
