As a child Pete spent his summers on Glen Echo Lake in Charlton boating, skiing, and fishing with friends. After graduating from Millbury High School, Pete enlisted into the Coast Guard Reserve for 10 years. He also worked for various construction companies before a 10-year career at Pleasant Valley Country Club, eventually working his way up to head mechanic.

In 1977 Pete founded 146 Supply Center in Millbury where they sold John Deere equipment for the next 43 years. He was proud of the company and culture he built. He worked with his wife Barbara and one other employee in the early years and eventually employed up to 35 people as the company grew. Pete could be found late in his career doing the heavy hauls and special runs in his Peterbilt truck. A highpoint of being a dealer is when he was asked to be the John Deere’s Dealer Advisory Council for 2 years and winning many trips for his dealership’s performance. He and Barbara had memorable trips to Europe, Australia, and Hawaii.

Pete was interested in anything mechanical and was always the go-to person to fix things that others could not. He enjoyed hot rods and car racing from an early age. Pete was an avid hunter and took annual trips to British Columbia and Newfoundland Canada with his brother Paul to hunt big game, always stopping at the Lodge in Nova Scotia. He also enjoyed gardening and landscaping while in Bonnet Shores, RI where he and Barbara would spend most of their free time. Papa Pete never missed an opportunity to get the family together to cook a meal for someone’s birthday. He was early member or the Worcester County Snow Runners snowmobile club and enjoyed family trips as well as the men’s trips to Canada. Pete belonged to the Singletary Rod & Gun Club and Millbury’s Old Timers.
