WHITINSVILLE - Jason A. Carney, 41, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 26th.
He leaves behind his father, James Carney and his wife, Hillary of Uxbridge, his stepsister, Amelia Fox and her husband, Brian and their 4-month-old son, Grey of Shrewsbury, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Jason’s mother, Delima Carney, predeceased him in 2010.
Jason attended elementary school in Millbury and high school at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School. He was active in the Day Program at Open Sky Community Services and was a member of the Open Sky’s supportive living community.
Jason was a very social person. He enjoyed meeting new people all the time and he loved communicating via text messaging and emails, and spending time with family and friends. He loved sports, especially baseball, having a difficult time supporting only one team. Jason also loved music, video games, concerts, movies and collecting hats and tee shirts from all over. He loved art, both creating and observing. He also enjoyed volunteer activities in his community through Open Sky and Club 21. Jason participated in the community theater at Open Sky, appearing in one production of Lil’ Abner and a one act play.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jason’s life with a time of visitation on Friday, October 1st from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury.
His funeral service will be held at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 3 Pleasant St., Sutton at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 2nd.
