MILLBURY

MILLBURY – Frank Paul Giacopello, 86, passed away peacefully on December 18th in his home after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 64 years, Louise (Dimitry) Giacopello; three children, Susan Giacopello and her partner, Stephen Chabot of Sutton, Christina Pizzeri and her husband, Frank of Shrewsbury and Michael Giacopello and his wife, Kelly of Grafton; five grandchildren, Mario Pizzeri, Marissa Pizzeri, Michael Giacopello Jr. and his wife, Cassie, Lauren Giacopello and Steven Giacopello and a brother, John Jiacopello. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Susie Jiacopello and brothers, Percy, Anthony, Joseph, Louie and sisters, Josephine and Marie.

Frank was born in Hammonton, New Jersey and attended school at Pleasantville High School. He moved to Worcester with his sister, Josephine in 1949. Frank went about his life with a charitable manner, always tending to his loved ones especially when in need. Serving as a teacher at Bay Path Regional High School. Frank inspired each and everyone of his students. He grew up in New Jersey, the second oldest of 8 kids. Closely following the Yankees from a young age. Frank fell in love with the team instantly. When he turned 60, he went out and got himself a Yankee tattoo, making sure all of his Boston friends saw it with the quick lift of his shirt sleeve. Frank enjoyed his cigars, a nice glass of scotch on the rocks, and a meal from his favorite North End restaurant, L’Osteria. What Frank enjoyed, the most was simply being with his wife & family. It did not matter where, as long as the family was together. When together, Frank would not hesitate to mercilessly tease his kids and grandkids with nicknames and a quick wink. He was a purveyor of witty remarks, leaving his family and friends with plenty of jokes to remember him by. His “what's up, Sunshine?” was always a familiar greeting, often followed by “better than most” when you asked him how he was doing. These and many other Frank-isms will not soon be forgotten. When not with his family, he could be found on the golf course, sporting a sharp polo and his striking mustache. He truly loved golf, having accomplished 3 hole-in-ones at some of his favorite courses across Florida and Massachusetts. Despite his horrible sickness limiting him this year, he was able to spend one last time on the driving range with his grandkids this summer. He spent many years volunteering during the PGA tournament at Pleasant Valley Country Club. More than anything, Frank loved his wife of 64 years, Louise. It is without question everyone who got to meet Frank was better for having known him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to put on a Sinatra song, pour a nice glass of scotch, or light up a cigar in memory of Frank.
