To Connor's family, I thank you for your bravery in sharing the true cause of your beautiful son's death. I do not know you nor did I know Connor, but he sounded like such a gentle, kind soul; sensitive and thoughtful. I hope that by being open about what led Connor to make the choice to end his pain, people may learn that words, in fact, do hurt deeply. I wish you peace and grace, and may Connor too, know eternal peace.

I didn't know Connor personally but when I saw his picture I knew he was a wonderful young person and was very smart. There are no words that I can write that will take away your pain, but I wanted you to know that I saw this post and was heartbroken for you all. May your memories of this sweet son and brother sustain you as you celebrate his life. Think of the times he was in joy, not in pain. I send peace, love and healing. And I pray that the bullies responsible change their behavior.

I happened to come across this obituary out on Facebook. I looked at this precious young face and I saw such a beautiful child. As I continued to read his beautiful obituary, I was so sad to hear this young boy have been bullied. I honestly am so sad for this world today with all these things happening. What I would like to say to his mother father and brother is that you will see him again one day. Jesus is coming back and you will be reunited with your sweet son / brother. God has a special plan for this boy and although he had to go through this much pain to get into God's arms, he is now with the angels. Lots of prayers go out to your family as you try to deal and cope with each new day that will come. God Bless all of you.

darling, i'm verklempt. already you are a shing star rising far above those that sought to do what they did in every way to rob you and sneak up on your backside. i wish i had known you, there are so many things i could have helped you watch out for. i see the supernova within you piercing this dark world may it bring into sharp focus to illuminate the things that need to be exposed so that others can see and step away from the harm that awaits them. your brilliance is what they despise, but how could you have known that? open our eyes to see the ones of you that are out there that need a strong shelter to wait the storm out in. i want to be able to be an ear to hear the voice that has been beaten down to the place where they drained you down to, i'll do everything to be a heart that helps you be able to back away from this thief and fight. don't be afraid to talk to someone that would lovingly offer a word, a smile, strength, kindness and if not total understanding, at least acceptance and sit with you 'where you are'. this tempest will pass. my sincerest hope for your family to find that place of comfort so that peace will be a constant companion in the days to come.

After reading about him it makes you so sad to know that any other young person could trod upon the heart and mind of such a brilliant & talented young man. I wish with all my heart and soul that this world could teach Kids that words hurt and destroy as much as any thing you can do physically. They need to learn some accountability for their actions.

“When the hours of Day are numbered,
And the voices of the Night
Wake the better soul, that slumbered,
To a holy, calm delight;
Ere the evening lamps are lighted,
And, like phantoms grim and tall,
Shadows from the fitful firelight
Dance upon the parlor wall;
Then the forms of the departed
Enter at the open door;
The beloved, the true-hearted,
Come to visit me once more;
He, the young and strong, who cherished
Noble longings for the strife,
By the roadside fell and perished,
Weary with the march of life!
Oh, though oft depressed and lonely,
All my fears are laid aside,
If I but remember only
Such as these have lived and died!"

I do not know your family nor did I get the honor to meet your son. I saw his obituary on Facebook posted by someone I do know and I read it. As a mother, parent and friend to my own son who is a 19 year old soldier whom was bullied himself from 6th grade to 10th grade and whom I had to commit when he tried to end his life. Your son sounds like a caring, giving, goofy, intelligent, kindhearted, amazing young man who loved his family and friends no matter what. My heart breaks for your loss and for the loss of this world because we will never have the honor of seeing what amazing, life changing things I’m sure he would have accomplished. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless!

My God, my Heart is breaking for you, such an amazing and gifted child... this happened to my daughter in 7th grade, it was devastating, she is now in her 2nd year in College, an Architecture Major, on Color Guard 6 yrs now, 4 in HS and 2 in college,,, very shy back then, Bullied by 3 insecure "cool " girls as They thought, bullied her after her last class every day, to where she didn't want to go to school. She finally confided in us, we went immediately to the school , teacher and principle, they had video camera in hallways and were able to view this horrific bullying , these girls and their parents were called on this... they cried, , cuz they got caught, little sissy girl tough girls, caused so much pain for my daughter and got caught on video, I would love to see where they are now...Karma hopefully... God Bless your Beautiful Innocent son, of this horrific Disease of Bullying by these sick Children....My heart shares your sadness....

Bully
Can't you see, their hurt and pain?
Do you like to see their shame?
Do you like to see them cry?
To be a bully oh me, oh my.
Being different, is not a cause to poke
or laugh, or point or make a joke.
Words can hurt down to the bone.
and make us feel so all alone.
Everyone needs a friend.
Not a bully, who may pretend.
Do not say bad things to one another.
That you wouldnt dare say to your father or mother.
To take one's life, because of hurt, pain and sorrow.
To feel, lifes not worth a tomorrow.
Do you understand, it may be, because of you?
For the things that you say or the things that you do.
You may think, what you do is harmless and fun.
Untill you see what your actions have done.
Learn to be a better you.
And think about the things you do.
To all those who were bullied, and are in gods gentle hand.
To their family and friends, who can't understand.
Your love for them, they knew it was there.
For all of you, you are in our prayers.
May your love one, be at peace.
And know, all the hurt and pain has ceased.
Your love for them, to the end of the morrow.
I pray, will help with your pain, hurt and sorrow.

I also hope that those involved in the bullying will see what they have done and find it in their hearts to take responsibility for their words and actions and change their lives in keeping with the person that Conner is and was.

I do not know your son, but did learn of his unfortunate passing. I am so very sorry for your loss, and I can not imagine your pain. I have two teens, 14 and 16, and have talked many times with them about bullying; to make sure that they never do that, and to talk with me if they are ever bullied. I will use his story to reinforce the importance of this issue. Connor sure seemed like a sweet, smart kid. Peace be with you.

I was reading the obit about your son and was so sorry to see that he left his family at such an early stage of his life. This is a cruel world we live in and the price is always paid by the lost of a child and the family suffering in the end. I too lost a son 11 years ago in an automobile accident. I know it is not the same as your loss ; but it still hurts. I too am catholic and I pray on a daily basis for God to give me strength. I will keep you all in my prayers. God Bless You All.

Words can never express how tragic this loss is.
Even though I never New your son or family he sounds like he was a amazing child. Saddens or depression is truly a illness that takes life’s . I will be praying for you all that you find the strength to carry on and live each day with peace and love in your hearts. That your son would want you to have, the saddest part about this kind of a loss is it effects the kindest of people and children, it’s that wonderful loving heart that suffers in the coldness of this world at times, I am so sorry that your family has had to endure this pain. But I hope you can take some comfort in knowing his life wasn’t in vain his death hasn’t gone unnoticed, and cuz of his story I will be talking with my 4 children tonight ages 4-15 about ways to stop this suffering your boy had to fight through. And ways to help other kids dealing with the same things or other kinds of pain, so hopefully we can prevent more children from having to feel the way your son did, I am so sorry you have had to suffer but please always remember the love your son had, just seeing his photo and hearing a small part of his story has touched my heart so deeply. He was absolutely beautiful God works in mysterious ways often we do not understand do not seek answers or exclamation but just rejoice in the time and love we have here on earth with each other. One day all of our story’s will be complete but until then keep turning the pages :( may peace and love be with you all from the Walters family in IL

We lost our precious son Adam, 14, on November 30, 1995 by his own hand - as a result of bullying at his high school. We are so saddened that after all the time passed, very little progress seems to have been made in awareness and empathy. Please know that we are praying for you and walking with you in spirit - losing a child this way is devastation. May God hold you in the palm of His hand at this most difficult time.

I feel so strongly against bullying as our kids have so many more pressures now than when we were children. It is a battle that our children are not winning but I want to hope that our society finds the strength and opportunities to stop it someday. I am so sorry for your loss. I am so very sorry for your great loss. In reading your sons obituary the tears fell down my cheeks . What an incredible young man and what an awful loss. My son too was bullied as I was throughout school, I fought with the school for years to put a end in it, yet got no help. It is sad that we have schools that say that have the "No Bullying" enforced at their school yet they do not enforce it. It is truly sad that parents are allowing their children to grow up and be a bully. I can not put into words how my heart breaks for all the pain that this incredible man went thru NOR the great pain, sorrow and emptiness you the family are going thru now. My thoughts and prayers are with you...

I am so sorry for you loss. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain you are feeling and how lost you must be. Your son was obviously a bright star in a dim lite night. Someone that should have been an example for other kids to follow. I to was bullied as a child after being sexual abused. It forever imprinted on my brain that maybe I was not as good as the other kids. Maybe just maybe I am no good. So I do understand where your child may have looked from. A precipice some choose not to return from and go to make it a better place somewhere else. Peace be with you in the coming years and months. I will pray for you and your family.

I am saddened that he was bullied and that those that bullied him took his spirit and happiness away from him, and that they took him away from you.
I will never forget the pain and loneliness that I endured from those that bullied me when I was his age because I was different. I am a grown adult now but have struggled throughout my life with my self esteem because I allowed others to take that away from me.

When I saw the picture of your beautiful son I was reminded about how mine had also suffered from this terrible behavior brought upon by his peers and misunderstood by the adults that we trust with the care of our children. I hope that you know how much your son truly loved his family. You see, when children suffer in this way they hide it so that their sadness doesn't become yours. No parent should have to bury their own child. That being said, we buried our son Bryan, in 2004, He also took his own life. He was like your son, kind, funny and just wonderful.
My heartfelt sympathy to your whole family. My prayers are with you all.
Connor, is in a special place now. He is in your hearts and will stay there forever.

So sorry for the loss of your amazing and handsome son. I am heartbroken to see another good soul taken from the world because of bullying, it is so unnecessary, and I pray every night that these cruel children will stop to see how much they are hurting another human being. I taught my son at an early age to stand by the underdog, if someone was being picked on to stand by the person being bullied, and show him/her that they do have a friend, and with the hopes that others followed behind him, some did, some didn't, but those that did made a world of difference. I'm so sorry that your son didn't get the support from other peers to get him through what he was dealing with from those who chose to bully him. May your beautiful son Connor rest in peace, and may he fly high and always surround you with his love! God bless you and your family!

I do not have to know Connor to know how difficult that life was for him to feel so helpless due to the bullies. I can tell you how heartbreaking it is to lose a loved one. My niece passed 10 years ago in her 30's after her father molested her for years, & 6 years ago on xmas eve day, my grandson overdosed the day after he returned from 3 mo. rehab. There will always be a hole in your heart, but look, & be aware that he WILL be sending signs to let you know that he is with you, as my loved ones have. We celebrate Chris' birthday every year, making his favorite dinner, & sing happy birthday & talk about our memories.... actually, we talk about him all throughout the year. The year of the firsts is always the worst, but for his sake, you will get through it. I personally needed antidepressants & don't feel odd letting anyone know. You are blessed to have had this child in your life for 15 years, even though it was certainly not long enough. I send you my love, dear family. You are welcome to respond to my email if you ever want to.

I found someone share this on Facebook and yet again, I am at a loss of words for what you and your family is going through. As someone that was a target of ridicule for the majority of her life until she went to college, there were some pretty dark days, I know how it feels. It truly breaks my heart that people are so cruel and heartless to make someone feel like there is no escape. From the bottom of my heart, my sincerest condolences, my thoughts, prayers, good healing mojo, and some lumos are sent your way.

I was "shattered" when I saw Conner's Obituary. I sit here wishing I had known of his suffering. I would have told him 'it does get better". I was truly tortured every day during my school years and Connor's death made all those memories come flooding back. There were many times I was ready to leave the suffering behind. My Mother was supportive and I was able to endure each school day. I was stuck with pins, punched in the face, spit upon as I made my way to classrooms. The Halls were like "Walking the last mile" for me everyday. But I did survive, became a Therapist and married the man I love. I thought today was different than 1966 but Connor's death showed me it hasn't changed. Connor is in Heaven now with my Mom and my Sister Loretta who was also my best friend. Again, I wish I could have told Connor that I would sit in class with him every day if need be for I grew up to be a 6' 240 lb man and now work tirelessly against bullies. I will be 69 ion 12/29 and fought all my life for Angels like Connor. I will pray the Rosary each night for 90 days for Connor and will ask our Heavenly Mother to take his hand and show him around his new home. God Bless You Connor...."Uncle" Dennis

Jason and family,
I am so deeply heartbroken to read about your son Connor. He sounds like such an amazingly gifted young man who had the desire to go above and beyond in his learning. I cannot even imagine what you are going through at this time. I pray that his memories do help you for the years to come. They may bring both tears as well as laughter to all of you. Bullying is such an epedemic and there has to be a way to open people's eyes to see how harmful it is. Children as well as parents need to be aware of their children's actions and the reactions to it.
You are all in my heart, thoughts and prayers! God has his newest Angel who will be watching over all of you!

I'm so sorry for your loss, my aunt posted this on Facebook and being local and knowing too many people that have lost it taken their lives due to bullying, addiction or mental health diseases. It's so hard to find any words to help console you, from the video and obituary in the short 15 yrs Connor was here with you he seemed like an unbelievably amazing determined young man. Like a previous post stated, kids can be so cruel only to find out when they're older that the people doing the bullying we're there ones in turn who really had the issues that should have been examined more closely. I was tormented in high school, but my dad says told me... "Be friends with EVERYONE, no matter what they are, who they are, what they believe, etc." For me in early a blessing in disguise, and for the ones who bullied me, how the tables have turned and I see posts about their children being bullied... If only they knew what they were doing to me would be done to their children. Not that I condone it but it took that for them to realize the wrong they did. My point being, this needs to end, and something needs to be done to many people don't seek the H they need be it fear, embarrassment, or bring scared or ashamed, well we need to change that stigma. NAMI, Brake the Silence (suicide prevention ride out of Charlton, MA), even just talking to other people makes a huge difference! I'm so sorry for this families loss, this young man seems like he should have been on top of the world with all of his accomplishments at only 15. As a single parent of a 5 yo little girl... Who's DR. Told her at her 5yr check up she was just right on the height percentile but over weight on that end of the scale... I wanted to shake the Dr. And say are you serious, it's a no wonder while there is such a complex with girls/children these days to be a certain size or look a certain way. It starts so early we need to teach children the shape, size, color, look, interests, differences, etc. We all have feelings and that's what it comes down to. Treating those the way we want to be treated. May you remember all the great times and memories you had with Connor and the happy/joyful times he had doing what he did and loved best!! Having list try closer friends in the past 4 weeks my heart aches for you. And just know he is now your guardian angel and is closer to you now than your hands and your feet are!! He is your Christmas Angel!! And will forever be with you both mentally and spiritually!! Again my deepest thoughts and prayers!!

I don't know this young man but it struck my heart. There is too much bullying and schools say they're "bully free" but they are not, not completely. It's all over the social media, texting, sporting events, etc. It is a very sad day for this boys parents to lose him before he had the chance to live. God bless him and his family. Help them to find peace and pray for help. I hope they investigate and find those involved with all this. enough is enough!

I don't know Connor or his family.
I was bullied as a teenager, and it breaks my heart to hear of his passing.
I wish I could have told him that teenagers grow up, and realize how cruel they are being.
I am now in my 50's and have a life that's full of kind people. I wish I could have known him to encourage him so I could tell him that it does get better.

I'm so sorry that young Connor had to go through bullying in his life... Nobody should ave to go through that, much less a child... Schools do not do anything to stop bullying, at least I know this to be true in WI. Our world has lost a great young man and this could ave been avoided if schools would practice what they preach... Schools know who their bullies are, but do nothing to stop them.. Connor's family and friends ave my deepest sympathies... BULLYING NEEDS TO BE STOPPED NOW...

As a mother who just lost her 29 year old son 2 months ago, I know there are no word of condolence that will mend your sorrow. Just be happy in the thought that he is spending Christmas with Jesus this year and that he is paving the way for you to join him. His short life is ended by others who didn't understand the great gift that Connor was and who were ignorant of the consequences of their meanness. I will pray for your family and ask that you keep me in your prayers as well. Peggy Furey, Conshohocken, PA

GOD of mercy. Holy One, You Who are the Source of life and compassion, carry the Tronerud family through this tragedy---that they may hold each other gently….living through this anguish; dealing with gaping hole. Heal and strengthen them through their season of mourning. May they rise from this great sorrow, holding their hearts in their hands, lifting them up to you, O GOD of eternal peace…teach them to live each day…and reach out to others suffering…and bring to them the healing balm of your divine love. Blessed are YOU, Giver of life, for the life of young, Connor Francis Tronerud, of blessed memory. Blessed are YOU, for the good you worked through him toward others, while he was among the living of this earth. You alone knew His suffering; the torment he endured. You alone know his last word, his last thought. Y’SHUA gave His life for him. In your hands is Connor’s soul. Blessed are you, GOD of Abraham , GOD of Isaac, GOD of Jacob….and GOD of Connor. Our heartfelt condolences during a very difficult time. I have no real words to help to heal the hurt and anger you are going through; I pray that one day no other parent will have to experience this terrible loss. I am so very sorry for your loss please believe Connor will continue to look down over you all and signs will be everywhere. His memorial was so beautifully written he is and will always be a great young man and only hope my children grown to have a beautiful soul as him. Deepest Condolences

I don’t know your family and I have no words to express my sympathy. Connor sounded like a very special young man and he will not be forgotten.
Connor must have touched and encouraged many children in is short life, I believe Connor’s kind words and actions will live on in all of these children and that will be a part of Connor’s legacy.
God Bless all of you.

Dear Tronerud Family,
It is with deep sadness and I must admit anger that I reach out to you. I said a Hail Mary for your son, and I asked God to forgive the ignorant. This is the only way not to harbor resentment.
I also graduated from O.L.A. Because Connor graduated w the highest GPA, I must say that your son is brilliant!
I will remember Connor at mass today and tomorrow. I promise you my constant prayerful support.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Fr. Hanlon

My heart is broken for such a tragic loss of a brilliant and outstanding boy who had so much to live for. The obituary was written in such a way, I feel that I know him. Bullying has serious consequences and I hope his school finds who is responsible for this sad turn of events. I pray for him and his family and friends, with peace.

So sorry to hear of the passing of this beautiful young man. May his tragic passing serve as a reminder that bullying goes far beyond ignorance and the classroom!! And may they be a better reach and protection for the victims of this cruel act. God bless you, young man. And may he bless and keep your family in his grace until you meet again...
