Clara Grenier

MILLBURY - Clara “Bridget” (Smith) Grenier passed away on April 26, 2020 after a short illness at Auburn Life Care Center in Auburn, MA. She was a member of the Millbury Federated Church.

She leaves behind her daughter in law Ernestine Grenier of Marlborough, along with many nieces and nephews.

Clara was predeceased by her husband Raymond H Grenier who passed away in 1993, and her son Alfred T Grenier who passed away in April 2020. She is also predeceased by her parents Anna (Anderson) Smith and Thomas M Smith. She is also predeceased by seven brothers; Thomas, Gordon, Samuel, Arthur, Donald, Wayne, Richard, and two sisters: Janet Connor, and Shirley Anyon.

Clara, known as Smitty to many of her friends, was born and brought up in Millbury and lived there for 94 years.

She worked for the Millbury School cafeteria for twenty eight years and the last eighteen years as the manager of the Elmwood Street School Cafeteria.She also worked at the Millbury Felter’s company during World War II.

Clara loved all sports, especially the Red Sox. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Millbury Federated Church Food Bank.

To abide by the state regulations on social gatherings, all of Bridget’s funeral services will be private.
