MILLBURY – Cheryl A. (Sarnblad) Piasta, 62, died March 5th at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, after a long illness.

Predeceased by her husband, Edward T. Piasta, she leaves her mother and late father, Dorothy (LaCoy) and Thomas Foley, of Millbury; her daughter, Shayne Piasta of Columbus, Ohio; her son and daughter-in-law, Kene and Jennifer Piasta of Natick; her brother, sister-in-law, and nephew, Michael, Pamela, and Max Sarnblad of Whitinsville; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Carol and (late husband) David Larose of Auburn, Donna and John LeChasseur of Worcester; Holly and John Huntoon of Millbury, Michael and Pamela Graves of Millbury, and Tim and Sandy Graves of Lincoln, Rhode Island; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Born in Boston, Cheryl was a long-time resident of Millbury until a recent move to Benchmark Senior Living at Shrewsbury Crossings.  She was a beloved preschool teacher for many years.  She was active in the Millbury community, serving on the Millbury Historical Society and as a member of the Millbury chapter of Dollars for Scholars.  She enjoyed spending time with her dog, Ziggy, watching movies, reading, gardening, camping at Manchaug Pond, sewing and crafting, and having a cup of tea or playing cards/board games with family and friends.  She appreciated the new community that she had found at Shrewsbury Crossings and expressed deep gratitude to the medical professionals who had cared for her over the course of her illness.
