WORCESTER - Wheeler "Slim" OTM)Neal, Jr., 79, formerly of Allston Ave., and formerly of Millbury, died Thursday Dec. 19, in UMASS Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester
His first wife Elayne E. (Larson) OTM)Neal, died in 1981. His second wife Flora V. (Kolat) OTM)Neal, died in 2000. He leaves two sons, Robert H. OTM)Neal of Sutton and John A. OTM)Neal of Camarillo, Calif.; three daughters Carole-Jean McAvey of North Grafton, Cheryl A. Lewis of Northboro, and Deborah L. Warren of Millbury; three brothers, Winston OTM)Neal of Fayetteville, West Virginia, Kimberton O'Neal of Oak Hill, West Virginia and Randall OTM)Neal of Logan, West Virginia; six sisters, Carol Whitt of Sunberry, Ohio, Janet Whitt of Johnstown, Ohio, Margaret Crites of Columbus, Ohio, Olive Faultz of Lancaster, Pa., Rosemary Crum of Logan, West Virginia and Bernice Bailey of Marengo, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, Gary T. OTM)Neal and three brothers and two sisters predeceased him. He was born in Fayetteville, West Virginia, son of Wheeler OTM)Neal Sr. and Gertrude (Henley) OTM)Neal and lived in Millbury and Worcester for many years.
Mr. OTM)Neal was a self-employed barber at SlimTM)s Barber Shop for 20 years. He then worked at Jamesbury Corp. for 9 years, retiring in 1985. He was a six year Navy veteran during WW II, serving in in the Pacific. He then served in the Army for 2 years.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #4.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23 in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury ( www.mulhane.com ). Burial will be in St. Brigids Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 in the funeral home. Donations may be made to Massachusetts Veterans Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, Ma. 01605.
