Virginia M. Charity

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ginny Charity, age 83, who passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026. 

She is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Marjorie Martin and her siblings Sonny Martin, Betty Hodgdon and Dick Martin. She is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, Bob Ludvigson (“Puppa”); daughter Jana and husband Gerry, their children Mikhail and Alexandra; son Joel and wife Kim, their children James, Elizabeth, and Jacob; her stepchildren Kallie and husband Mike, their daughter Karen and husband Chris; Kyle and wife Megan and their daughter Lily; as well as 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Barbara St. Pierre and Lin Martin-Hunt and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ginny was born in Maine but spent most of her life in Massachusetts where she raised her children and became an absolutely devoted and loving grandmother, never missing their school activities and always proud of them and their achievements. She worked for the state of Massachusetts for 30 years where she met her great friends Ruthie, Barbara, Dave, Steve and all those affectionately known as “The Maine Group”. She also leaves behind her lifelong friends Brenda and Caroline.

Ginny spent 37 happy and fun-filled years with her husband Bob. When not working, they were travelling the coast of Maine and off to Florida for vacations. She was a fantastic home decorator, cook and gardener. Above all, Ginny loved and valued time spent with her family and friends, hosting many get-togethers at her home, by the pool, or at her favorite restaurants.
