Vance A. Coldwell

July 29, 1962 — March 5, 2024

WORCESTER

We announce the unexpected passing of Vance A. Coldwell, 61, of Worcester on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Vance was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Coldwell of Ashland and his mother Adele Walters of Palm Bay, FL. Vance is survived by his loving and devoted son, Alexander Coldwell and his wife Breanna of Millbury, his brother, Guy Coldwell, of Southborough, sister, Gale Coldwell of Palm Bay, FL, sister, Brenda Turner and her husband Kevin of Northbridge; and his sister, Darya Coldwell of Hopkinton and her fiancé, Steven Guerrini of Hyannis, his nephew, Kenneth Patterson and his wife Michelle of Ooltewah, TN; nieces Joselle Turner of Thompson, CT, and Brita Turner of Northbridge.

Born on July 29, 1962, Vance grew up in Ashland where he shared his brother's love of cars, motorcycles and fishing.  He attended Keefe Technical High School in Framingham, where he majored in Diesel and Heavy Equipment. Vance became a truck driver after several years as a Diesel Technician. He was known as “Vinny” by his friends at work. Vance had recently rounded out a 30+ year career with YRC Freight (Yellow Corporation), having retired in 2022.  He was awarded with an impressive 2 million safe driving miles in 2019.

Always greeting family and friends with a smile and having a genuine concern for others, Vance always went out of his way to help those he cared about.  He was always down for a good party, cookout or any other festivity. Vance had a uniquely silly sense of humor and ability to make others laugh, which made him such a pleasure to be around.  His pride, love and adoration for his son, Alex, was evident in every conversation.  After recently relocating back to the area, he was enjoying more time spent with his son, family and friends and looked forward to doing some RV traveling and exploring new places. Vance will be missed.
