SUTTON/HOLDEN

SUTTON/HOLDEN - Timothy Leonard Donahue, beloved son of Gerald and Teresa (Leonard) Donahue, passed away on July 2, 2026.

Tim graduated from Holy Name High School where he was a founding member of the Breakfast Club. He was loved by many for his unique sense of humor and style that attracted anyone who came into his orbit. Blessed with a quick wit and a mischievous personality, Tim was always ready with a joke or comment that made people laugh. He could lighten the atmosphere, regardless of the circumstance. Tim was an astute follower of politics, often knowing the names of key pieces of legislation, their congressional sponsors, and how US Senators and Representatives voted on each bill. He was a devoted New England sports fan and thoroughly enjoyed attending Patriots games with high school friends at the old Foxboro Stadium. Similar to his father, he reserved his greatest passion for Notre Dame football and would often end college football debates with friends by simply stating, “They have nothing on Notre Dame.”

Timothy is survived by his mother, Teresa; his brothers, Richard and his wife Lisa of Worcester, Kevin and his wife Kerry of Brookline, and Brendan and his wife Colleen of Holden; beloved nieces and nephews Katie, Ryan, Evelyn, and Seamus; an uncle, Laurence Donahue of Florida; several cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his father, Gerald R. Donahue; his uncles and aunts, Peter Leonard, Robert Donahue, Anthony and Betty (Leonard) Gibalerio.

The past 30 years have not been easy for Tim or those who knew and loved him. However, the fact that family and friends would give up a Saturday afternoon in August to play golf and raise money for his care brought immense comfort - even though Tim hated golf.

The Donahue Family would like to thank the staff at Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing where Tim was a resident. They are especially grateful to Frank who, for the past 15 years, took exceptional care of Tim. They would also like to thank the dedicated staff at Mass General Hospital and UMass Memorial Hospital who also provided care for Tim.

Family and friends will honor and remember Tim’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Thursday, July 16th from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. in St. Mark’s Church 356 Boston Road, Sutton. His Funeral Mass will follow at noon in the church with burial in Old Howard Cemetery, Sutton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts (BIA-MA). The funds received will improve the lives of brain injury survivors across the Commonwealth. Donations by mail can be made out to BIA-MA and mailed to:

BIA-MA, 30 Lyman Street, Suite 10, Westborough, MA 01581. Online donations can be made at www.biama.org/donate
