Worcester/Falmouth - Thomas M. Silva, 80, passed away on Tuesday, October 12th. He is predeceased by his wife and partner in life, Joanne “Duffy” Silva; his parents Claude and Georgina (Oliver) Silva and a brother William Silva.
He leaves behind a son Patrick Silva and wife Danielle of Lancaster; a daughter Jeanne (Silva) Pellegrino and fiancé David Bazin of Shrewsbury; two beloved grandsons, Logan Pellegrino and Cameron Pellegrino; a sister Claudette (Silva) Moniz, wife to late husband Joseph (Ken) Moniz; brothers George Silva and wife Barbara Silva; Gerald Silva and wife Leah Silva; Ronald Silva, husband to late wife Shirley Silva and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was born and raised in East Providence, Rhode Island. He graduated from East Providence High School. Tom served in the United States Army and Army Reserves from 1963 to 1969.
He spent much of his working career in retail sales which brought him to Worcester working for the Weintraub Fabric Company. This is where he met his wife, Joanne and they began their journey together. Tom worked his way up in the company to a Regional Management position. Later in life, he went on to work for Spag’s in Shrewsbury.
Tom and Joanne were married in 1968 spending 51 years together until her passing in August 2019. They were a true partners who enjoyed life's adventures together. Their door was always open to friends and neighbors, hosting a multitude of social gatherings.
Tom and Joanne relocated to Falmouth, spending more than 20 years by the ocean. Tom continued to enjoy going to the local pub, listening to music and dancing with his love, "Duff". He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed working on jig saw puzzles.
Tom will be missed by family and friends. He will be remembered for his sarcastic humor and the guy with the twinkle in his eye.
