MILLBURY – Thomas R. Cates, 28, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 3rd.
Thomas leaves his fiancé, Marie Weeks and their two children, Thomas A. Cates and Ryker R. Cates; mother, Billie (Cates) Berenson of Worcester; father, Robert Berenson and his wife, Amy of Millbury; siblings, Nikolas and Alician Berenson; his paternal grandparents, Maria and Bob Wilcox; step-grandparents, Robert and Barbara Roy; many aunts, uncles, cousins and a nephew.
Tom worked as a construction supervisor and made many lasting relationships at Oakman Enterprises in Auburn. His work family was very important to Tom, especially with Mary Oakman who was a huge part of his life. Tom enjoyed gardening, farming, anime, video games and was fascinated with stars and the constellations. His pets were like family, he had three cats, Castor, Echo and Ash, along with two dogs, Athena and Talia.
Most of all, Tom was an amazing father to his two children. Family was everything to him and the time he spent with them was always cherished. Tom will be remembered as having a great heart and being a very caring person.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Tom’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Monday, Nov. 10th from 4 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 11th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury. Those attending the Funeral Mass are asked to go directly to church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mulhane Home for Funerals, to go towards Tom’s funeral expenses.
