MILLBURY — Theresa B. Maillet, 97, died on January 23, 2026. Born and raised on Grafton Hill in Worcester, Theresa was the eldest daughter of Joseph F. Carbonneau and Anna Maria (Poitras) Carbonneau.
On July 2, 1949, she married the love of her life, Aldorie J. Maillet, with whom she shared 50 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2000. “Terry and Al” were truly inseparable, partners in every sense of the word.
Theresa was a talented seamstress—both professionally and personally—and she remained a stylish and meticulous dresser throughout her life. She was also a consummate Christmas Eve hostess and a whoopie pie maker extraordinaire. If music was playing, she and Al could always be found together on the dance floor.
They were devoted sun chasers, returning to the same patch of sand at Hampton Beach every summer weekend. They also spent many winters in Deerfield Beach, Florida—a tradition she lovingly continued on her own until 2020. Annual trips to Canada were treasured parts of their life as well.
In addition to her husband and parents, Theresa was predeceased by six of her seven siblings: her brothers Ernest, Herve, Homer, Joseph Jr., Lionel, and her sister Lorraine (Bourassa). She is survived by her sister, Jean (Peare) of Millbury, and by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews in both the United States and Canada. To many of them, Terry was not only an aunt but a cherished bonus grandmother—deeply loved and always present.
A lifelong Catholic, Theresa’s funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 4th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street in Millbury, where she worshipped faithfully for sixty years.
Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester, where she will be laid to rest beside her parents and her beloved husband.
Theresa’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Brookdale Eddy Pond East and to her dedicated VNA Hospice team for the exceptional care, kindness, and affection they offered her.
In keeping with Terry’s wishes, please do not send flowers.
