Steven William Ducharme (37) of Millbury, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2026.
Steve leaves behind his cherished daughter, Elena Ducharme; his fiancée and partner of 15 years, Liz Auger; his father, William Ducharme and his wife Karen of Millbury, MA; his mother, Kathleen Sheehan-Lee and her husband Dave of Charleston, SC; his brothers, Sean Labouef of Shrewsbury, MA, and Jeff Labouef and his wife Melissa of Sturbridge, MA, along with his nieces Shaena, Teigan, and Kenna Labouef; his grandmother, Pauline Grenier and her husband Bob of Pennsylvania; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. He also leaves behind his beloved golden retriever, Alby.
Steve was predeceased by his grandmother Helen Sheehan, who he adored; his grandfather’s John Sheehan and Bill (Red) Ducharme; and his Great Grandmother (Memere) Delia Salois.
If you knew Steve, you knew his laugh. He had a natural gift for humor and a way of easing even the hardest moments. He was grounding, thoughtful, and kind, someone who showed up, listened, and made people feel at home just by being there.
Steve loved deeply and without condition. His parents, brothers, and extended family meant everything to him, and he held immense respect and gratitude for the love and support they gave throughout his life. His friends were truly an extension of that family. He built lifelong bonds and surrounded himself with people he loved fiercely. Loyal to his core, Steve never missed a chance to remind everyone in his life, family and friends alike, just how much they mattered.
Above all, Steve was an incredible father and devoted partner. His daughter Elena was his whole world, and Liz was his greatest love. Together they spent seven years building a life in Charleston, SC, a place they called home, where they shared countless adventures, grew their family, and dreamed excitedly about the future they were building together. Steve took immense pride in watching Elena grow and learn, cheering her on through every milestone. His love for his family was unwavering and guided everything he did.
Steve spent his career in the hospitality industry, where his warmth and attention to detail shined. He genuinely cared about creating meaningful experiences for others and had a true passion for bringing people together around the table and hoped to create a welcoming space where friends and family could gather, connect, and enjoy a good meal and drink together. He was excited by dreams of someday owning a cheese and wine shop in Charleston, SC.
Steve found joy in the simple things, cooking for loved ones, golfing, fishing, enjoying a good glass of wine (or a Natty Light), reading, cheering on New England sports, and being part of fantasy football leagues. Music was a monumental part of his life, reflected in his extensive record collection and the countless moments spent sharing favorite songs with the people he loved.
Steve was a loving son and brother, loyal friend, partner and an amazing dad. Funny, compassionate, steady, and endlessly supportive, he made life better for everyone around him. His absence leaves an immeasurable space, but his love, laughter, and presence will live on through all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
