In Loving Memory of Stephen V. Osper 8/5/1947 – 11/11/2025

Stephen Victor Osper, 78, of Millbury, Massachusetts, formerly of Grafton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his companion, Brenda Malboeuf, who lovingly cared for him until his final moments. He leaves his daughters, Shelley Osper and her companion Jason Parkins of Millbury, Massachusetts, and Monique Ducharme and her companion Allan Gray of New Hampshire, as well as his son, Sergeant Brandon Stritt, and his wife Kellie of Clement, California.

Stephen will be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Chrystyanna Parkins, Maximus Ducharme, Jackson Ducharme, and Morgan Stritt. He is also survived by his brother, George Osper, and his wife Sharon of El Cajon, California, and by his sister, Susan Ryan, and her husband Paul of Millbury, Massachusetts, who was his best friend. He will be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Helen and Victor Osper, and his sister, Carol Gervais.

A 1965 graduate of St. Stephen’s Central Catholic High School, Stephen proudly served his country in Vietnam. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism for rescuing three wounded soldiers while exposing himself to enemy fire without protection. Stephen was an avid sports fan and a lover of “all good times.” His warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends will honor and remember Stephen’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Friday, Dec. 12th from 10 to 11 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. 

His funeral service will be celebrated following the visitation at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with burial in St. Brigid Cemetery, Millbury.
