Stephen Ivey

WEBSTER – Stephen Ivey, 56, passed away peacefully, after a long period of declining health, on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester, MA.

He was born in Somerville, MA on January 1, 1967, the son of Arthur Ivey of Thailand and the late Ann (McLaughlin) Ivey.

Stephen will be deeply missed by his caretaker, soulmate and wife, Karen (Rixham) Ivey, stepson, Nathaniel Beckwith, father-in-law and mother-in-law Russell and JoAnn Rixham who loved him as their own and he lovingly called ‘Guy’ and ‘Momzy’. He leaves his sisters, Patrina Ivey (Daniel), Sharon Berard (Gary) and Ashley Ivey, and brother Brian Ivey (Lisa). Stephen leaves behind many nieces and nephews who lovingly refer to him as “Uncle Visa” as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He leaves behind his pet kitty companions Callie and Sal, whom he loved dearly and is predeceased by his beloved dog Oreo, who was waiting for him, we are sure.

Stephen introduced Karen to cruising on their honeymoon and they loved sailing the open seas together. They have sailed all over the Caribbean and across the Atlantic. When they weren’t cruising, they loved to spend time watching old classic TV shows and just being together. One of Stephen’s passions was cooking. Anytime he could whip something up and make someone happy with food, he would be in his glory. He would spend an hour looking for a recipe and then make up his own anyway.

Family and friends are invited to share in the remembrance and celebration of Stephen’s life by gathering for a period of visitation from 12:00 to 1:00. At 1:00 there will be a small service for those wishing to attend followed by a Celebration of Life meal on Saturday, January 6th at Veterans of Foreign Wars, Charles F Minney Post, 16 S. Main Street in Millbury.
