Shirley Smith

SUTTON - Shirley (Rivers) Smith, 77 passed away May 6, 2024 after a brief illness. 

Shirley was born in Monson, MA to George and Laura (Perron) Rivers.  Shirley and her husband Robert Smith married on Valentine’s Day, a memory that made her smile. During their younger years, she and Bob enjoyed spending time together hiking in Western MA. She was a hard worker, having just retired in 2023 after many years working at the Whitinsville Walmart, previous to that she worked as a nurse's aide.

She loved her 1966 Mustang and was sad when she sold it. She was quick-witted and often sarcastic. She will be missed by all of us that she held most dearly to her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Smith and her son, Keith Ingersoll.

She is survived by her son, James Ingersoll, stepson Christopher Smith and grandchildren Anthony, Christian, Ben and Nadalya.

Shirley’s graveside service will be held on Friday, May 24^th at 11am in Wilkinsonville Cemetery, 11 Boston Road in Sutton.
