MILLBURY – Shirley A. (Collette) Huchowski, 92, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, Feb. 3rd after a brief illness.
Shirley’s husband, John Huchowski passed away in 2010. She leaves two sons, John A. Huchowski and his wife, Marcia of Williamsburg, VA and Jay J. Huchowski and his wife, Deborah of Millbury; a daughter, Joy K Jacobson of Worcester; five grandchildren, Paige Yeatman and her husband, Mark, Jay Huchowski and his wife, Amy, Shea Huchowski and her husband, Mark Sperry, Scott and Wade Huchowski; seven great grandchildren, Reese, Owen and Drew Yeatman, Todd, Hailey, Samuel and Hannah Huchowski; a sister, Evelyn Shepley and a brother, Albert D. Collette both of Millbury; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, Albert J. and Helen M. (Gilbert) Collette; a sister, Beverly Sheehan.
Shirley was a faithful member of the St. Brigid Church, where she was a CCD teacher and CYC advisor. She volunteered at the Millbury Senior Center and was a member of the Millbury Historical Society. Shirley worked at the Millbury Credit Union and Goretti’s Supermarket. She enjoyed attending all the sporting events of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. The family would like to thank her care giver, Ruth Ashun for all her love and care of Shirley during the past year.
Family and friends will celebrate and remember Shirley’s life by gathering for her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, Feb. 10th at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury. Guidelines on social distancing and the use of masks will be followed. Burial will be private.
