AUBURN- Sherri L. Granger, 52.
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Sherri Granger. She battled kidney cancer for two years with genuine appreciation for every skilled medical professional that helped along her journey.
Sherri leaves her son, (Eric) Harry Brodeur Jr; her mother, Sheila (May) Courchaine and husband Phil Courchaine; her sister, Renee Corso and brother in law, Joseph Corso; stepbrother, Derek Courchaine and sister in law Lisa Courchaine; her niece, Alexandra Corso and husband David Golden; nephews, Dominic Corso and Keith Granger; niece, Adrienne Courchaine; her boyfriend, Paul Coleman; and so many others close to her heart. She is predeceased by her father, Thomas J. Granger and brother, Thomas E. Granger.
Sherri encouraged, mentored, comforted, educated, inspired, and loved every person she worked with, starting at 14 years old at Dairy Queen, then LensCrafters Eye Exams at Greendale Mall, Seven Hills Occupational Therapy, and UMASS Ophthalmology Clinic. Though she devoted much of her time working at UMASS, she adored thrifting and treasure hunting, hiking, watching Harry play sports, and talking with friends.
Family meant everything to her. To Sherri, her family included a vast group of cousins, friends, and coworkers. Sherri saw the best in people. She found a way to support others even when she was depleted. As we mourn this tremendous loss, the greatest way we can honor her is to continue what she started, to keep showing up for one another, keep sharing knowledge, keep supporting each other.
We thank Sherri for everything she gave to all of us. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you touch grass, feel beach sand on your toes, relax with a dog, savor a snack with a friend, wear sunglasses floating in a pool, and laugh. Really laugh a lot with someone that makes the world brighter.
Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Sherri’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Thursday, July 9th from 4 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury.
