MILLBURY

MILLBURY - Ryan C. Anderson, age 29, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, October 1, 2022.  Ryan was born in Worcester and lived in Millbury his entire life.

Ryan leaves his two children, Benjamin and Thomas Anderson of Millbury, and their mother, Heather Mikulski, his parents, Charles and Patricia (Samia) Anderson of Millbury, his sister, Nadine Anderson and his nephew, Devandre Edmonds both of Worcester.  He also leaves his grandmother, Marie “Sitto” Samia of Leicester, auntie, Gail Samia of Worcester, uncle, Elias Samia of Gardner, auntie, Susan (Anderson) Rogers of Worcester and auntie, Barbara (Anderson) Byers of North Carolina.  He also leaves many cousins in Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina and Florida.

Ryan graduated from Millbury Senior High School in 2011. He enjoyed being in the drama club and performing in school plays and singing in the chorus as well as being in the environmental club.

During his youth Ryan enjoyed the outdoors playing baseball, soccer, playing the piano and learning horseback riding which enabled him to trail ride solo.  Ryan spent 12 years in scouting, joining Cub Scouts at an early age and earning the Arrow of Light with Pack 109.  He then moved on to Boy Scout Troop 109, enjoying many adventures with highlights including 100 years of scouting camporee at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia, Northern High Adventure cross country to Colorado and a 75-mile canoe trek on the Northern Lakes of Minnesota to the Canadian border.  His scouting careers greatest accomplishments include being inducted into the Order of the Arrow with the Pachachaug Lodge 525 and finally the highest award in scouting Eagle Scout in 2011.

Ryan was also chosen for the People-to-People Student Ambassador Program and enjoyed a trip to England and Scotland in 2005.  He enjoyed yearly family vacations to Lake George, NY and Salisbury Beach, road trips along the east coast with mom and dad, including trips with his dad to the Talladega Superspeedway. He loved the ocean and would go to the beach whenever he could.  Ryan especially enjoyed his annual trips to Aruba with Sitto, Jiddo and auntie Gail.  Ryan was a member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral and served as an altar boy.  He also was in the remake of the H.M.S. Pinafore production put on at the church.

As an adult, Ryan worked for the Hilton Hotels as director of human resources, he also worked in assisted living as director of business administration, and his first employment at age 16 was with the McDonalds Corporation where he worked his way up to general manager.

Ryan is predeceased by his grandfather, Edward “Jiddo” Samia and his grandparents Russell and Patricia (Taylor) Anderson, three uncles, Robert Anderson, Paul Rogers, and Russell Anderson, Jr.

All services for Ryan will be held on Tuesday, October 11th at St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street in Worcester.  Calling hours will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with his funeral Mass immediately following in the church.

Burial will take place at Central Cemetery in Millbury immediately after the funeral service.
