Rose-Marie Bernard

Rose-Marie (Parzych) Bernard, 73, formerly of Worcester, Millbury, and Paxton, passed away peacefully on Feb. 1st surrounded by her family and friends.

Rose-Marie leaves her husband of 51 years, Lawrence P. Bernard; two children, Mary-Ann M. Rokicki and her husband, John of Rutland and Michael D. Bernard and his wife, Larni of Grafton; six grandchildren, Rebecca, Alicia, Thomas, Megan, Kolby, and Cami; one great grandchild, Madisyn; a sister, Lucille Maguire and her husband, Mike of Millbury; a sister in-law Betty Bernard of Sutton; many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her parents, Vincent J. and Pauline M. (Benoit) Parzych.

Rose-Marie graduated from Holy Name CCHS in Worcester, Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield, 1965, and received her BSN from Anna-Maria College in Paxton MA in 1991. She was inducted into the Delta Epsilon Sigma Honor Society, a proud accomplishment.  Her working career included Nursing Homes, St. Vincent's Hospital, Holden Hospital, Anna-Maria College, and Fallon Community Occupational Nursing. Rose-Marie enjoyed ice skating, playing the piano, singing, Fall Follies, bowling, cake-decorating, needle-work, sewing, knitting, tole-painting, and ceramics. Many of her creations were made for her children and family. She was very active in her church parish at Assumption Church in Millbury and the Assumption School. Rose-Marie loved being with her children and grandchildren and vacationing with friends and family.

Family and friends will honor and remember Rose-Marie’s life by gathering for calling hours on Monday, Feb. 12th from 4 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Feb. 13th at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 12 Waters Street, Millbury.  Her committal service will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
