Rosalie "Dolly" LaFrance

SUTTON – Rosalie “Dolly” (Kasabula) LaFrance, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept 19th, with her family by her side.

Rosalie’s husband of 43 years, Donald L. LaFrance passed in 2003. She leaves two sons, Richard L. LaFrance and his wife, Lynn, and John A. LaFrance; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Kasabula and his wife, Michele, and Paul Kasabula and his wife Diane; a sister, Marie Morton; a daughter in law, Grazyna LaFrance; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rosalie was born in Worcester and lived most of her life in Sutton, where she raised her family and helped run the family business, Don’s Lock & Key Service. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Rosalie enlisted shortly after graduating from high school. While stationed in Washington, D.C., she met and married her husband, Donald.

Rosalie dedicated 29 years of service to WCAC, where her expertise in the financial side of fuel assistance contributed to helping families in need with heating subsidies throughout the year. Her commitment to helping local families made a lasting impact on the community. In recognition of her dedication, she was honored at the Women of Distinction gala in 2008. Rosalie was a faithful parishioner of St. Mark’s Church in Sutton, where she donated her time and would send resources to Foyer St. Etienne (St. Stephen’s House), a 40-bed nursing home in Les Cayes, Haiti.

She loved being by the water, reading books, family camping trips, listening to country music and square dancing with her husband. Most of all Rosalie loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always happiest when with her family.

Rosalie’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Webster Manor Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for the compassionate care and kindness they provided to Rosalie during her time there.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate and remember Rosalie’s life by gathering for her Funeral Mass on Tuesday, Sept. 29th at 11 a.m. in St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 356 Boston Road in Sutton with burial to follow in West Sutton Cemetery.
