WEBSTER

WEBSTER, MA – Robin Marie Pond (Wackell), 66, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her devoted husband and family. Her passing follows a lengthy and illness, which she met with incredible resilience and bravery.

Born in Worcester, MA, Robin was the beloved daughter of Joan A. Wackell of Millbury, MA, and the late John J. Wackell Sr., who passed away in 2014. She leaves behind a deeply devoted family, including her husband of 37 years, Robert C. Pond of Webster; her brothers Michael J. Wackell, Sr. and his wife Diane of Millbury; Paul F. Wackell of Worcester; and Scott A. Wackell of Webster. Her cherished nieces and nephews Michael J. Wackell Jr. and his wife Lauren of Hopewell Junction, NY; Alicia (Wackell) Monahan and her husband Andrew; Maegan Wackell and Sophia Wackell of Millbury. Her beloved grandnieces and grandnephews: Michael, Zachary, and Khloe Mazzilli; and Shawn and Makayla Monahan; and her special rescue cat, Ezra James, to whom she was exceptionally devoted.

Robin grew up in Millbury and graduated from Millbury High School in 1977. She went on to continue her education at Becker University and dedicated most of her professional career to retail—a field she truly loved.

Robin’s true forte was her vibrant creativity. Her immense talents shined brightly across everything she touched, whether she was creating her fashionable look, decorating interiors, gardening, cooking, or quilting. She loved sharing her work and regularly gifted beautiful, handmade quilts – that will forever be keepsakes for her family and friends.

Alongside her husband Bob, Robin was an avid traveler. Together they went on glamping trips to Vermont, traveled to Mexico and the Caribbean, and explored the northwestern United States. They spent many peaceful vacations at the Pond Family cottage in Brewster, MA, taking in the beautiful coastal sunsets. Robin was always up for an adventure; during an Alaskan cruise, she even braved the freezing waters for an unforgettable dip—a moment she always remembered as a true highlight of her travels.

Robin will fondly be remembered for her fierce loyalty, incredible generosity, and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need. Above all else, Robin was the real deal. She never sugarcoated the truth, never pretended to be someone she was not, and never worried about telling it like it is. If you asked for her opinion, you got it straight—whether you were ready to hear it or not. You always knew exactly where you stood with Robin. Her family and friends will forever treasure the endless laughter, stories, and adventures they shared.

Family and friends are invited to gather to remember and celebrate Robin’s life during a time of visitation on Sunday, Oct. 11th from 2 to 4 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 4 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury.

Her family extends their heartfelt appreciation to everyone who cared for and supported Robin throughout her long medical journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robin's memory to her favorite rescue shelter, the Community Cat Connection located in Webster, MA at https://thecommunitycatconnection.org/
