Roberta Jo "Bobbi Jo, Bobbi or BJ" Britten, 66, of Millbury, MA, passed away suddenly March 13th from complications of pneumonia, surrounded by her family at UMASS Memorial University Campus.
She was born July 22, 1957, in Hancock MI, but lived most of her life in Thiensville, Wisconsin. Bobbi attended Homestead High School (1975) and Kee’s Business School. She worked as a manager at Sears and then an office manager at Coin Appliance in Milwaukee, WI.
While working full time, she was also our parent’s caregiver which she carried out with devotion. BJ is predeceased by her father, Richard Britten (2013), and mother, Joan Przymus Britten (2015). She is survived by her brother, Scott (Eileen) Britten of Hiawatha, IA, Sisters, Carrie (Mike) Litle of Bluffton, SC and Karla (Tony) Belliveau of Millbury, MA, as well as beloved nephews and nieces, Anthony (Jennirey Pabst) Belliveau of Surprise AZ, Jordan (Kristin Dupre) Belliveau of Wakefield MA, Matthew Britten of Hiawatha IA, Rick and Britten Litle of Bluffton SC, along with multiple great-nieces and nephews.
BJ had a hilariously dry wit and enjoyed anything spooky, She was generous and loving to family and friends alike. She loved spoiling her niece and nephews and taking them on adventures (usually involving roller coasters). BJ also enjoyed traveling with and supporting her friends across the pond (Herman’s Hermits), going to the Parade of Homes with her friend Rhonda, and watching TV with her best pal Lily. BJ also had a special bond with her aunt, Jean Kass.
BJ moved to Millbury, MA in 2022 after experiencing a stroke. She moved in with her sister and brother-in-law, Karla and Tony, and loved to travel around Massachusetts and to critique Tony’s cooking. BJ had multiple health issues, but she was a fighter until the end, even opting to have a kidney transplant last September with her sister, Karla, as her donor.
We would like to thank the U-MASS Transplant Team and ICU Team, especially Dr. Quarshie and RN Caitlin for their exceptional post kidney transplant care as well as ICU RNs Grace and Hillary, for their kindness and compassion during BJ’s transition to eternal life. In addition, Scott and Carrie would like to say a very heartfelt and special thank you to Karla and Tony, for their daily loving care of our precious sister.
Memorial services for BJ will be held this July in Milwaukee, WI.
