Robert “Bob” L. Pearson, a lifelong resident of Millbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Barbara M. (Copp) Pearson, who passed in 2020, and by his parents, Oscar and Esther Pearson.
Robert is survived by his three children: Robert E. Pearson, Cynthia L. Pearson, and John C. Pearson and his wife Frances, all of Millbury. He also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Brittany Gauthier and her husband Robert of Millbury, and Cody Pearson and his wife Erin of Clayton, North Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel Gauthier and Conor Pearson; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Copp of Ossipee, New Hampshire.
Born in Millbury, Robert graduated from Millbury High School in 1952, where he proudly played basketball. Along with his family, he owned and operated Pearson’s Elmhurst Dairy, a family business founded by his parents in 1934. Farming was never just a job—it was a way of life and a legacy he was deeply proud to preserve. Over the years, the farm received numerous awards recognizing its excellence. He especially treasured the many summers spent with his children and grandchildren participating in oxen pulls and showing prized Shorthorn cattle.
He also had a love of music and enjoyed singing for many years with the Light Opera Club of Worcester and the First Congregational Church choir. He was dedicated to his community, serving on the Millbury Credit Union Board of Directors for 32 years and on the West Millbury Cemetery Commission.
Bob will be remembered for his strong work ethic, deep devotion to family, and unwavering commitment to the Millbury community.
Family and friends will remember and celebrate Robert’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Saturday, Feb. 7th from 1 to 4 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. Burial with his beloved wife in the West Millbury Cemetery will be held at a later date.
