Robert L. Herriage, 88, of Millbury died peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, April 20, 2026.

Robert was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He loved painting, watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports, playing cards, baseball and the Boston Red Sox, watching the N.E. Patriots, and most of all being with his family. Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him for generations.

Born in Elmore City, OK he was the son of James J. and Hazel D. (Smith) Herriage. Bob graduated from Oakdale High School and briefly went to college prior to enlisting in the United States Army. He was stationed at Ft. Devens, MA when he met the love of his life Connie, whom he was married to for 61 years. Bob worked for many years as a purchasing agent at George J. Meyer Manufacturing Co. in West Boylston and Lampin Corporation in Uxbridge where he retired after many years of service. After retirement, he performed freelance CAD design services as well.

Bob was very active in Millbury coaching Farm League and Little League baseball for Local 3426 and then he was asked to coach for the Little League All Star team. He was also a member of the Worcester Men’s Club and enjoyed playing cards at the Millbury Senior Center.

Bob is predeceased by his loving wife, Constance A. (McManus) Herriage. He is survived by his two daughters, Deborah A. Gemme and Patricia L. Gibson both of Millbury, Stephen R. Herriage of Millbury, James W. Herriage of Dudley, and Daniel P. Herriage and his wife Sharon of Spencer. Bob also leaves his beloved grandchildren Justin, Julieanne, Danielle, Corey, Naomi, Stephen, Ashley, Sean, Ryan, Daniel, and Kathryn along with nine great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his son-in-law Alan W. Gemme, daughter-in-law Mary F. Herriage, his brothers James L. Herriage, Troy W. Herriage, Thomas M. Herriage, and a sister Johnnie Fay Herriage and his great grandson Alan A. Gemme.

The family would like to thank the staff at JHC Hospice for the phenomenal care that they provided Bob. Additionally, a very special thank you to his daughter Patti whom remained at his side and provided extraordinary care for him.

Family and friends will remember and celebrate Bob’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. 

Military Honors and words of remembrance from the family will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
