Robert P. Chabot, age 92, of Millbury, Massachusetts, formerly of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on September 14, 2025, at Christopher Heights Assisted Living Facility in Webster, MA, after a brief illness.
Bob was born on October 11, 1932, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Florence and Leo Chabot. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force. After his military service, Bob worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years, retiring in 1991.
He is survived by his son, Mark R. Chabot, and his wife Sheila of Millbury, Massachusetts; his grandson, Colin Chabot of Worcester; his beloved canine companion, Duncan; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by the love of his life, Joan (Myers) Chabot, who passed away in 2010. Together, Bob and Joan enjoyed many wonderful years of retirement in Leesburg, Florida. In 2021, Bob returned to Massachusetts to live with his son for a couple of years before moving to Christopher Heights Assisted Living in Webster. Though initially hesitant, Bob came to love the facility, its staff, and fellow residents. He called it home and found comfort and companionship among kindred spirits.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Christopher Heights for their care and support during Bob’s time there.
Bob was also predeceased by his parents, Florence (Rondeau) and Leo Chabot; four brothers— Raymond, Phil, James, and Leo (Jerry) Chabot; and two sisters—Florence Archambeault and Rita Edwards.
A graveside gathering will be held at 10am on Saturday, October 4th in New Howard Cemetery, Armsby Road, Sutton, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to an animal sanctuary of your choice, in honor of Bob’s deep love for animals.
