Robert E. Carroll, Sr.

Robert “Bob” E. Carroll, Sr., 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 20th in St. Vincent’s Hospital, after a brief illness.

Bob’s wife of 40 years, Regina (Fielding) Carroll passed in 1995. He leaves his son, Robert E. Carroll, Jr. of Sutton; four grandchildren: Joshua, Jason, Jillian and Joseph; 6 great grandchildren; his companion, Joanne Flaminio; a sister Elain Ferrel and many nieces and nephews. Bob is also predeceased by his parents, John E. Carroll, Sr and Loretta (Couture) Carroll; a brother, John E. Carrol Jr.; a stepbrother, Rodney Miller and a sister, Cheryl Pickering.

Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy, following his discharge from the military in 1955 Bob began his lifelong occupation and passion as a barber. After completing barber school and his apprentice in Boston, Bob returned to Millbury where he owned and operated Bob’s Barber Shop for over 60 years. He was also a life member of the Charles F. Minney Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 3329 in Millbury.

Family and friends will celebrate Bob’s life by gathering for his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, Oct. 27th at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Steet, Worcester with burial to follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
