MILLBURY – Richard L. Chase, 81, died Monday, February 15th, in St. Vincent Hospital, at the Worcester Medical Center.
His wife, Nancy M. (Williams) Chase died in 2004. He leaves two daughters, Lisa Dalrymple and her husband, Glenn of Millbury and Lori Schraffa and her husband, Michael of Oxford; three sisters, Marjorie Hairyes of Millbury, Kathleen Rozenas of Dudley and Nancy Moore Wells of Las Vegas, NV; a sister-in-law, Carol Horgan of Sandwich, four grandchildren, two great grandsons and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Millbury, son of Levi J. and Mable (Hall) Chase and has lived in Millbury most of his life. He is predeceased by his brothers, Warren Chase, Kenneth Chase, and a sister, Marion Reed.
Richie worked for the Town of Millbury, holding positions for the Highway Department and Board of Health, retiring in 2003. He previously worked as a truck driver for Worcester Sand and Gravel.
Richie attended Millbury Public Schools. He enjoyed going out to breakfast, repairing vehicles, riding on his farm tractor, mowing his lawn and small engine repairs. He was a member of The Worcester Surf Casting Club for many years. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and being the best Papa to his grandchildren.
Richard’s family will honor and remember his life at a calling hour from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday Feb. 22nd at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main St. in Millbury.
Richard’s funeral service will be private, but will be streamed live on Monday, Feb. 22nd at 11am.
