Raymond J. Bricault, Sr.

Raymond J. Bricault Sr. died peacefully after a brief illness at age 89 on August 2nd, 2026 in Worcester MA.

He leaves daughter Laurie Kochanowski and son Raymond J. Bricault Jr, both of West Boylston, MA and son Jean-Paul Bricault of North Grosvenordale, CT as well as Brother Ovila Bricault Jr. of North Brookfield, MA and second love and companion Elsie Fish of Grafton, MA.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Beverly A. Bricault (Renaud), brothers Donald (Millbury, MA), Richard (Hampstead, NC), George (Auburn, MA), Paul Bricault (Worcester, MA) and sisters Lorraine (Millbury, MA) and Theresa (Worcester, MA), and daughter-in-law, Janet Bricault (Sherman).

He leaves his cherished eight grandchildren: Sarah (and wife Autumn Turner), Nathan, Jean-Paul Jr. (and wife Rachel Genereux), Kody, Kayla, Cheyanne, Daniel and Brian Kochanowski whom he loved and adored.

He was born in Worcester on October 10, 1936, son of Alice (Delisle) and Ovila Bricault, Sr. He met and fell in love with Beverly Renaud after a two-month courtship and married in 1958. They built their home in Milbury, MA in 1969 where they raised their family.

He graduated from Commerce High School. He then enlisted in the Army in 1955 until he was honorably discharged in 1958. He served in Thule, Greenland and achieved the rank of Specialist 2nd Class with the 16th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion.

He worked for Norton Company (not Saint-Gobain Co.) for 33 years in the former ceramics division. He worked his way up from production worker to foreman and retiring as a Process Engineering Technician in 1998.

Since he retired, he spent any time he could outside manicuring the yard, making sure there was no blade of grass out of place. Sporting his T-shirt to soak up the sun, his late summer tan was the envy of even the most ardent lifeguard.

Ray’s years of dedicated service to those in need stemmed from his belief in the Gospel. He was a volunteer Ombudsman for the Elder Services of Worcester. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes church in Worcester for the last five decades and served on many of its committees and chaired the former Bishops’ Fund (now Partners in Charity). He was also President and founder of its Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. He was very active in his parish as Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and Altar Server since joining the parish.

More recently, he was reunited with an earlier love from his twenties, Elsie Fish, and they spent the last decade together as each other’s closest friend and companion; bringing new joy to one another’s lives.

Family and friends will honor and remember Ray’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Friday, August 7th from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. 

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 8th at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street, Worcester with burial to follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
