MILLBURY - Pearl A. (Leary) Hanratty Passed away peacefully while at home on Monday May 23, 2022 with her loving family by her side, she was 92 years old. Pearl was born in the Dorothy Pond area, the youngest child of Charles and Cora (Gauchier) Leary. She was married to the love of her Life Chester P. Hanratty Sr for 49 years until his passing in 1999.
Pearl leaves behind her sister-in-law and loving caretaker Joan T. Hanratty, her five children; Chester P. Hanratty Jr his wife Karen Hanratty, Jan P. Hanratty, Joan M Giorgio and her Husband David, Shawn P. Hanratty and son-in-law Michael Hill all of Millbury and Son Jay P. Hanratty and his fiancé Trish Kehoe of Auburn. Pearl’s oldest Daughter Patricia A. Hill predeceased her in 2020. She also leaves behind eleven Grandchildren; Erin Romero, Mathew Hill, Kimberly Burke, Nicholas Giorgio, Anthony Giorgio, Toni-Ann Poirier, Jeffrey Hanratty, Chester Hanratty, Kate Hanratty, Shea Hanratty, and Sam Hanratty, Four Great Grandchildren; Payton Burke, Patrick Burke, Bradyn Hill and Charles Hill. Pearl also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Pearl was predeceased by her two parents, Charles and Cora, her brothers; Charles and Robert Leary, her three sisters; Doris Sclar, Olive Hickory and Vivian Frazier.
Pearl was a resident of Dorothy Pond area; she was the last of her generation to be born in Dorothy Pond and have lived in Dorothy Pond her entire life. Pearl loved living on the pond, with her close-knit family, friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed bowling with the girls on Thursday mornings, playing Pinochle and Cribbage with her sisters and brother Bob, collecting dolls, knitting, traveling and RV camping with her husband and children. Pearl was a member of North American Family Campers, Wyman Gordon Family Campers and Family Motor Coach Association. Pearl was a devout Roman Catholic and a Lifelong Member of Saint Brigid's Parish in Millbury where she was Baptized, Confirmed, Married and regularly attended 7 am daily Mass and 4 pm Saturday afternoon Mass.
Family and friends are invited to remember Pearl’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Friday, May 27th from 4 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 28th at 10 a.m. in Saint Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury. Burial will follow, alongside her husband in Saint Brigid Cemetery, Millbury.
The family requests flowers be omitted, and memorial contributions may be made to Saint Brigid Parish for ongoing improvements in Pearl’s honor.
