MILLBURY – Paulette Renee Marie (Roy) Wilkinson, 79, passed away peacefully due to complications of Parkinson’s disease on Friday, March 27th surrounded by her loving family.
Paulette leaves her husband of 53 years, William “Billy” C. Wilkinson; three sons, Keith W. Wilkinson and his wife, Christina of NH, Brian C. Wilkinson and his wife, Thuy of Sutton and Barry P. Wilkinson and his wife, Samantha of Charlton; six grandchildren, Evelyn, Tobias, Xena, Atlas, Scotia and Callan; her sister, Suzanne J.M. Roy of Mississauga, Ontario; sister in laws, Bonny Dattis of Sutton and Suzanne E. Roy of Shrewsbury; nieces and nephews. Paulette is predeceased by her grandparents, Alphonsine and Noey Gover; her parents, Rene and Jeannine (Forget) Roy and a brother, Denis R.J. Roy.
As a young girl, Paulette attended Our Lady of Assumption Elementary School in Millbury and graduated from Holy Name Catholic High School in 1964. After graduating from high school, she was employed by New England High Carbon Wire Company as a secretary for 10 years.
In 1972 Billy and Paulette were married and they began building their family in Millbury. Paulette was devoted to her family and dedicated her life to their well-being. She made sure their home was a place of caring, warmth and comfort.
As her boys grew older, Paulette returned to the workforce but still found a way to care for children. She began working for the Town of Millbury in the cafeteria of her old elementary school, Our Lady of Assumption Elementary School.
In their retirement years, Billy and Paulette loved spending time at their summer vacation home in Wells, Maine. They enjoyed 25 years of biking, motorcycling and touring the Southern Coast of Maine in their Mazda Miata.
Paulette loved animals and always made time to care for them. Her cats meant everything to her and brought joy to her life. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, gardening, cooking and baking.
Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Paulette’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Wednesday, April 1st from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. Following the visitation at 2 p.m. there will be words of remembrance from the family in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
A luncheon will be held following all funeral home services at the Asa Waters Mansion, 123 Elm Street, Millbury starting at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to MSPCA-Angell for the Kindness and Care for Animals.
