MILLBURY- Paul A. Welcome, 91, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2026.

Paul leaves his wife, Maureen (LeBlanc) of 37 years; his children, Timothy Welcome and his wife Mary and Tracy Leahey and her husband John; three step sons, Marc Bergeron and his wife Ana Cecilia, Jeffrey David and Richard David and his wife Chrissy; five grandchildren, Erika Leahey, Matthew Leahey, Emma Leahey, Lauren Welcome and Andrew Welcome; his sister Claire Belton and many nieces and nephews.

Paul is predeceased by his first wife Nancy (Russek) Welcome; his parents Russell and Leonette (Gaudette) Welcome; three siblings, Robert Welcome, William Welcome and Claudette Olson.

Paul served in the Army Reserves for many years. He started his 35-year teaching career at Douglas High School and after a few years began teaching Math at the former Framingham North High School. While at Framingham North he was President of Framingham Teachers Association for two terms, he coached JV basketball for Douglas and Framingham North and was Chairman of Faculty Council at Framingham North High School.

While living in Grafton, Paul was active in the parish of St. Mary’s Church as a CCD teacher for 20 years, President of CCD and member of parish council. Paul was the Boy Scout Master and was a member of the local Boy Scout Council. He was a longtime member of Shrewsbury Knights of Columbus Adelphi Council #4181, where he held different offices over the years.

Paul graduated from Worcester State College with his bachelor’s and master’s degree and was elected to the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011 for his basketball career while in college. He enjoyed playing golf, meeting for breakfast and playing bocce with his friends from the Knights of Columbus. Also, he was a Lifetime Member of The Retired Friends Club of Greendale.

Paul loved to travel. Over the past 30 years he and his wife traveled all over Europe and areas of Central and South America. He especially enjoyed the history and experiencing the different cultures of each country.
