Paul L. Waterhouse

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Paul L. Waterhouse, 65, of Millbury, on Thursday July 30, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Paul is survived by his four adoring daughters, Rachel (Waterhouse) Saldana and her husband Telos of Worcester, Katherine Waterhouse of Worcester, Chloe Waterhouse-Michaud of Cranston, RI and Lauren Bimmler of Clinton. He will be missed tremendously by his six grandchildren, Joseph Oppong, Lucas Waterhouse-Michaud, Kane Saldana, Nataleigh Waterhouse-Michaud, Xavier Guzman and Weston Saldana; his beloved siblings Carol Sinner and her husband Mark of Scottsbluff, NE and Ruth Jensen of Ewa Beach Hawaii. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Paul is predeceased by his parents, Joan and Howard Waterhouse, his sister, Deborah Waterhouse, and brother-in-law, Edward Jensen.

Paul graduated from Nipmuc High School where he was an enthusiastic basketball and soccer player as well as a member of the cross-country team. He then attended New Mexico University and spent time living in New Orleans as a young adult.

His career included over 40 years of dedicated service to individuals with developmental disabilities as a residential coordinator. He was honored in 2012 with an award for his compassion and commitment to the people he supported. His impact on the lives of those he cared for with the utmost dignity is immeasurable.

A quintessential free spirit, Paul enjoyed Tuesday “Pop Camps” where he would take his grandchildren on a new adventure each week during summers and school vacations, long hikes in state parks near or far depending on his mood, trying new restaurants recommended by the Phantom Gourmet or free publication he picked up in Boston as well as traveling as frequently as possible. Paul appreciated the value of experiencing different places from a young age, moving from Massachusetts, to New York, Maryland and New Hampshire all before graduating high school. These moves also strengthened his bond with his dear sisters. Whether it was a cross-country adventure with his youngest daughter or a quick weekend in Maine with as many of his daughters, grandchildren, sisters and their children as possible, Paul thoroughly enjoyed visiting new places.

He was a patient, kind and incredibly funny person who cared deeply for his loved ones. He instilled the importance of “strength and honor” into his parenting and shared this mantra with his grandchildren as well.

Paul was a beacon of wisdom and avid reader who was committed to standing on the side of love and justice for his fellow human beings and all the Earth.

A private celebration of life with immediate family will be held at a later date.
