Paul T. Concemi, Sr.

MILLBURY- Paul T. Concemi, Sr., 82 passed away peacefully after a long illness on Thursday, September 17th at home.

Paul leaves four children: Alfred Concemi and his wife Maria of Roswell, GA., Mary McDonough and her husband Bryan of Methuen, MA., Julie Concemi of Leominster, MA., and Paul Concemi, Jr. of Lunenburg, MA.; his brother Atty. Samuel Concemi and his wife, Marie of Andover, MA., as well as his significant other, Jean M. Shea of Millbury; stepchildren: Heather Wootton and her husband Simon of Bethel, CT, Todd Curtis and his wife Jessica of Great Barrington, MA. His grandchildren: Emily Concemi and Nicholas Concemi, Tea Concemi, Sean McDonough and his wife Carolyn, Lauren Andrade and her wife Hayley; a great grandson, Declan McDonough; step grandchildren: Kristen Jenks and Allison Warner, Olivia, Amelia and Claudia Wootton, Sadie, and Oliver Curtis. Paul was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Anne (Bongiorno) Concemi along with his first wife Etta Nadeau and his second wife Judy Carrithers Curtis Concemi and step grandson Wyeth Curtis.

Paul graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1961 and continued his education at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy achieving a B.S. in Pharmacy in 1966. Paul designed and implemented a pharmacy system to provide free medications for indigent patients of Cambridge. His pharmaceutical model was integrated as part of the Mass. Health system and eventually became part of Obamacare. He always considered this his hallmark professional accomplishment.

Paul authored the first bill in Massachusetts to include consumers on Regulatory Boards. His original legislation was adopted and expanded by then Governor Francis Sargent and enacted in 1971, making the Commonwealth the first state to include consumers on their Regulatory Boards/Agencies.

Paul was always involved in town committees and was a selectman in Townsend, MA and more recently he was on the Millbury Fire Department Headquarters’ building committee. He was a past President of Mass. Society of Hospital Pharmacists and served his Brierly Pond Community as Board Chairman for ten years. He enjoyed coaching baseball, reading and traveling. Paul was an avid sports fan, particularly the Boston Red Sox. He attended countless games at Fenway Park with his family and shared this love with his children and grandchildren.

Family and friends will honor and remember Paul’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Wednesday, Sept 23rd from 4 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Sept 24th at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury.
