Patricia Anne Surette

MILLBURY – It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Patricia Anne (Winkiewicz) Surette, 62, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, February 17, at Milford Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Trish leaves behind her husband of 35 years, Paul Surette of Millbury and her son, Dr. Charles Surette and his fiancée Hannah Kilday of New York, NY. She also leaves her mother Dorothy Winkiewicz of Sutton and is predeceased by her father, Charles L. Winkiewicz and her sister Christine L. Belanger. She leaves three sisters; Donna Beckwith and her husband Robert of Millbury, Pamela Campanale and her husband Jeff of Sutton, and Stephanie Fennelly and her husband Rick of Charlton. She also leaves behind a brother-in-law Tom Belanger of Sutton.

She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, Kristen Jaeger and her husband Mike, Rachel Yu and her husband Jong, Anthony Campanale and his wife Alisha, James Campanale, Michael Campanale, Jennifer Beckwith, Nicholas Fennelly, Steven Belanger, Kayla Parker, and her great-nieces, Arielle, Alexis, Aaleyah, Angelina and great-nephew Ezra. 

Trish was born in Worcester, MA and grew up in Sutton, MA. She graduated from Sutton Memorial High School and received a psychology degree from Anna Maria College. Recently retired, she worked for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH) for the past 39 years and most recently as the Site Director in North Grafton, MA.

Trish was an avid sports fan with a particular passion for her beloved Boston Celtics. She frequented many games at the Boston Garden with her husband Paul and son Chaz, cherishing these times and creating lasting memories. Trish brought immense joy and warmth into the lives of all that were fortunate to know her. Her unwavering support was constant in our lives, providing us all with comfort during the times when we needed it most. She was a beacon of kindness and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends. 

As we mourn the loss of Trish, we will also celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. Her memory will continue to inspire us with kindness, resilience and a zest for life. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered in our hearts.

Patricia and her entire family would like to express their deep gratitude to Alexandra Bailey, MD, and all of the staff at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for their wonderful care.

Friends and family are invited to Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 North Main Street in Millbury, MA on Thursday, February 22, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm to gather together, remember, and celebrate Trish. 

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 23 at St. Brigid’s Church, 59 North Main Street in Millbury, MA, immediately followed by a burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester, MA.
