SOUTH GRAFTON

SOUTH GRAFTON – Norman Arthur Jacques, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, April 7th.

Norman leaves his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth (Hudson) Jacques; three daughters, Jessica Jacques and her special friend, Dawn Skoglund of Worcester, Jocelyn Jacques-Curewitz and her husband, Matt of Worcester and Jacquelyn Dubois and her husband, Frank of Milford. He also leaves a brother, Albert Jacques of South Grafton and many nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents, Louis and Doris (Plouffe) Jacques; as well as three brothers, Philip, Francis, and Leeland Jacques.

Norman graduated from Sutton High School in 1965. He attended Quinsigamond Community College and Worcester State College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree in Education. Norman worked as a teacher in Millbury for 34 years, where he met his beloved wife Elizabeth.  Norman’s greatest pride was his family.  He enjoyed gathering everyone together Sunday afternoons for his home cooked meals.  He loved planning family vacations and spent many hours researching unique locations to take his family.  Norman loved his part-time job at Rossi’s Package Store (Sutton Liquors), which allowed him to stay connected to all his friends from his hometown. Norman served Knights of Columbus as the Grand Knight, Eucharistic Minister at Saint James Church in South Grafton, and was the Treasurer for the Smile Club (Retired Teachers of Millbury).

Norman looked forward to retiring from teaching and spending time vacationing with his wife.  He was able to travel to - Alaska, Hawaii, Bermuda and many other exciting locations. Not one to rest too much, Norman worked part-time at the Grafton Stop & Shop in his retirement years.  In recent years, Norman found great comfort and joy taking care of his robotic companion dog Johnny, as well as his real-life cat Belle.  Norman could always be found with a book in his hand, recipe on the stove, and a big smile on his face.  He will be missed by many.

Family and friends are invited to remember Norman’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Wednesday, April 17th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N.
