Nicholas W. Buffone

Our dad, Nicholas W. Buffone, of Naples, Florida and formerly of Millbury, Massachusetts, passed away at a local hospital to his eternal reward early Tuesday morning, September 15, 2026, at the age of 95.

Nicholas leaves behind the special love of his life, Frances, and the two of us—Nick, alongside Sue, his loving partner, and Mark.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Dad was predeceased by his parents, Giuseppe (Joseph) and Antoinette Buffone; his eleven brothers: Charles, Frank, Salvatore (Butch), Raymond, Albert, Joseph, Peter, Lee, Armando, Louis, and George; his two sisters, Carmella and Rose; and his much-loved daughter-in-law, Paula Buffone.

He also leaves behind nieces and nephews, now older adults, who still cherish the playful antics, humor, and love he shared with them in their younger years. He will be deeply missed by special friends, including Dwayne and Dawn of Worcester, Mark and Carol of Millbury, and members of the Capone and White families.

Nicholas centered his entire life around family and a daily prayer practice that grounded him each day. When he wasn’t spending time with us or focusing on his faith, he could almost always be found out on the golf course chasing the perfect swing, practicing at a nearby driving range, or occasionally visiting a convenience store to pick up a few lottery tickets with a hopeful smile. Like many of the wonderful Buffone brothers, Dad will be remembered as a loving man who was always cracking a joke just to make you smile or laugh. He lived a long, beautiful life, and while we will miss him dearly, we will forever treasure him in our memories.

Along with his love for family and faith, Nicholas loved his country and honorably served in the US Army and US Navy. A graveside service of military honors will take place.

Gravesite committal service will be held privately at St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury.

In lieu of flowers or other types of condolence expressions, we would deeply appreciate Masses offered for Nicholas W. Buffone (Dad), and/or donations made to a charity of your choice, especially those supporting children.

As Dad always remembered, and as Jesus said: "Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life." (John 6:47)
