MILLBURY - Nancy L. (Erickson) LeClaire passed away peacefully in her home on Christmas Eve morning during a lightly falling snow, after being lovingly cared for by her husband, daughters, and granddaughter.
Nancy was born the third of six children of Einar and Marie Erickson. She grew up and lived her entire life in East Millbury, graduating from Millbury Memorial High School in the Class of 1955. After her children were in school, Nancy began working as the head clerk for the Board of Health in the Town of Millbury, retiring in 2002 after 29 dedicated years of service to the town. After her retirement, Nancy took on the role as co-director of the Millbury Free Health Care Program from 2003 to 2007.
Nancy was a strong and resilient woman who cherished spending good times with her family. She proudly celebrated her Swedish heritage and traditions, and also enjoyed reading, gardening, music and shopping. She loved Christmas and always found the perfect gifts for her family. She went on many great vacations, in particular with her brother Robert. She also enjoyed spending time at her home on Cape Cod.
Nancy leaves behind her beloved husband of 65 years, Edward “Ed” LeClaire of Millbury. Additionally, she was a wonderful mother to her three children who will miss her dearly: her daughters Lisa Kaseta and her husband David Kaseta of Charlton and Jodi Lane and her husband Joseph Lane III of Sutton, and her son Eric LeClaire and his partner Laura Devlin of Millbury.
“Gram” will be greatly missed by her two loving grandchildren who brought her so much joy: Christopher Kaseta of Long Beach, California and Kelli Marie Hicks and her husband Michael Hicks and her three favorite little guys who kept her going: her great grandsons Michael, Jordan, and Ryan Hicks, all of Barre. Nancy will also be missed by Connor Devlin of Millbury, Joshua Devlin of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine and Mahina Devlin of Naples, Florida.
Nancy was a kind and loving sister to her brothers Vernon “Sonny” Erickson and his wife Marian of Millbury, the late Russell Erickson and his wife Fran of Sutton/Millbury, Richard Erickson and his wife Mary Ellen of Eastham and Robert Erickson and his husband Carlos Ibarguen of Provincetown, and her sister Shirley Courtney and her husband Richard of Sutton.
