DUDLEY- Nancy J. Field formerly of Millbury, 79, passed away peacefully on Sep 12, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was born in Worcester to the late Michael and Anita Riordan. She graduated from South high school in 1963 and raised her family in Millbury.
Nancy leaves behind her two daughters Melissa Damelio and Michelle Field, her four grandsons, Jacob, Nicholas, Marcus, and Max, her two sons in laws, Frank Damelio and Marco Goncalves and her special niece Linda Riordan. She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Douglass W. Field.
She worked at Wyman Gordon for many years, and then went back to school to become an LPN. She enjoyed working with the elderly at Sandalwood Nursing home in Oxford. She spent her final working years at Verizon in Marlborough. Through these careers Nancy made life-long friends with whom she made many fond memories during her retirement years.
Nancy’s greatest joy was her family. Spending time with her four grandsons in Maine during the summers, and taking family vacations on cruises and to Aruba. She was a fun, hands-on grandmother, who was an intricate part of their daily lives from birth to present day. The bond she created with them will endure and will be cherished. She was everyone’s Nana, and her favorite activity was to bring her grandsons out for ice cream. The boys loved her caring, jovial, and at times sarcastic wit. Laughter was one of her biggest gifts to her family.
Raising her two daughters, Missy and Shelly, Nancy was a perfect example of a loving and supportive mom. She exemplified what it means to be a strong, caring, compassionate person who gives 100% to the people she loves. She gave her daughters a happy and wholesome upbringing full of fun memories which later blossomed into a treasured friendship. She had a great love for animals, and she adopted many rescue dogs. In her final days she had her beloved dog Bob visit her in the nursing home.
Aside from family, some of Nancy’s favorite things were card games, scrabble, Rummikub, summers in Maine, winter trips to Florida, shopping binges on Amazon, and cooking big meals for the family.
While she will be greatly missed, Nancy is now with her beloved husband Doug, and her memory will live happily in the hearts of her family.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Nancy’s Funeral Mass on Friday, Sept. 19th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury with burial to follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
