MILLBURY

Michael G. McKeown of Millbury, MA passed away from an acute illness with loving family members by his side on December 18, 2023 at UMass Memorial University Campus at the age of 71.

Michael was predeceased by his second wife Lelia (Ramos) McKeown (Millbury, MA), father James J. McKeown (St. Cloud, FL) and sister Susan Hill wife of David Hill (Buxton, ME). He leaves behind his wife Jacqueline (Thompson) McKeown, his daughter Marci Stormer (Midlothian, VA), two sons Douglas McKeown (Medford, MA) and Matthew McKeown (Millbury, MA).  He leaves behind his mother, Dorothy McKeown (Kissimmee, FL), two brothers James McKeown and wife Karen (Milton, Nova Scotia) and Sean McKeown (St. Cloud, FL). He leaves behind his sister Diane Simons married to Daniel (Kissimmee, FL). He also left behind 2 grandchildren Lawson and Breelynn MacAulay (VA), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael worked over 10 years at Data General in Southboro, MA preceded by over 25 years with Park Place International in Northboro, MA before retiring. He served in the Air Force for 5 years for weaponry and radio repair.

Michael had a passion for restoring antique radios. He loved to go fishing, and could often be found gardening vegetables, fruit and flowers. His house was frequently filled with the sounds of music from his album collection or from his acoustic guitar. He was often found in the kitchen cooking lasagna, seafood, French onion soup, cookies and flan. He was fond of bowling, soccer, racket ball, and playing a wide variety of card games with his family. Michael was reluctant for new pets to enter the home, but once there, he was in love and they were inseparable. He leaves behind 2 precious dogs and 3 feisty birds.

Anyone that was close to Michael knows that he was a genuine, caring and a giving man. He found ways to make you laugh and appreciated those he chose to befriend.  Michael will be remembered with close family in a private ceremony. He will truly be missed.
