MILLBURY

MILLBURY - Mary Wincer, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on September 15, 2026. She was born on August 25, 1940 in Worcester, the daughter of John and Anna (Lancisi) Gillespie.

Mary leaves her devoted husband of 64 years, Charles Wincer; two daughters Jennifer Wilson and her husband, Robert of Charlton; Jodi Ciarleglio and her husband Richard of Glastonbury, CT; and her two cherished grandchildren Olivia and Cole; one sister Margaret “Peggy” Sciascia and her husband, John of Auburn; two sister-in-laws Martha Gillespie and Nancy Gillespie of Worcester; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents and six siblings Richard Gillespie, Charles Gillespie, Janice Miller, Robert Gillespie, Shirley Fenner and Paul Gillespie.

After graduating Commerce High, she worked in the offices of Thom McAn, years later in the stores at Lincoln Plaza and the Auburn Mall, then as assistant to the regional manager. Before her retirement, she was employed by FONS Corp in Marlboro.

A lifelong Red Sox fan, she rarely missed a game. She enjoyed time with friends, trips to Aruba, she loved to talk, especially with her “club” friends who met monthly for over 60 years. Mary's greatest happiness though was being with her family. Her love, kindness and generous nature will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Family and friends will remember and celebrate Mary’s life by gathering for her Funeral Mass on Friday, Sept. 25th at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury with burial to follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to PBS at supportpbsfoundation.pbs.org
