Mary A. Taft

Mary Alice Taft, (67) peacefully passed away Friday, April 12th, 2024, at UMASS Memorial Healthcare Hospital surrounded by loved ones.


Mary was born on November 15, 1956, who has already resided in Millbury, Massachusetts with her predeceased parents, Mary G. Taft & Harry W. Taft. In her childhood, Mary enjoyed going bowling and being outside. She was a beloved friend and member of the Seven Hills Foundation, Hope Ave., Worcester, Massachusetts for many years. Mary loved completing her crossword puzzle books, coloring in her coloring books, and wearing many pieces of jewelry. She found delight in pancakes with her coffee, singing Christmas tunes and wearing Mickey Mouse attire. Mary will be remembered for her ability to bring sunshine into our lives.


Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her caregiver and guardian Karen L. Cote. Mary is survived by her brother Clifford Taft, who is predeceased by his wife Louise Taft; Clifford’s present companion Holly A. Thebeau; her brother Charlie Taft & his wife Anne; her sister Betty A. Burke & her husband Arthur. Mary leaves behind Karen L. Cote {married to John M. Cote}, Mitchell L. Colon {married to Ashley A. Colon}, Natasha M. Vargas-Taft; Shannon J. Olson-Mayhew; Arron Burke {married to Christine T. Burke}, Kristy (Taft) Senatori; Cheryl (Taft) Reheis; along with many other family members and friends.


The family wishes to thank Amy Morales for her love, care, and devotion to Mary. 


Family and friends are invited to a graveside service in honor of Mary at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 29th at Oak Ridge Cemetery, 111 Main Street, Southbridge MA, 01550. In memoriam of Mary, the family asks for all attendees to wear something of either Mickey Mouse or flashy jewelry.
