FORT LAUDERDALE – Linda Jane (Shepard) Stepenovitch, 73, passed away peacefully at Broward General Vitas HealthCare on July 15th, surrounded by her loving family.
Linda was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on September 12, 1951, to Roland and Ida Shepard. Linda had a very tight-knit family, she met her husband, Joseph Paul Stepenovitch Jr., after graduating Millbury High School and they were married for 56 years. Linda leaves her husband, two children, Jolyn and Joe III; four grandchildren, Ashton, Alyssa, Payton and Joshua along with two brothers John “Jack” and Gerald Shepard.
After a long career in the banking industry, beginning with Bank Atlantic and Barnett Bank she recently retired after 20+ years with Bank of America as the Market Development Manager in Broward and Palm Beach County. Well-known in the community, Linda served on many boards over the years including the Light of the World Clinic, Broward Education Foundation, Broward Housing Board, Take Stock in Children-Corporate to name a few.
Linda was recognized as Woman of the Year for American Cancer Society, Woman of Distinction from March of Dimes, First Lady of Broward, Spirit of Excellence Award, Broward County Medical Association and numerous awards from Bank of America for her amazing service to causes to improve programs in the community.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 24th beginning at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury for a viewing 9:00 to 10:30am followed by an 11:00am Funeral Mass at St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury transitioning to Central Cemetery for burial.
A local South Florida memorial service will be announced at a later date.
